Gaffer's update July 2017

25 June 2017

Update July 26th:

?I can now happily say we have completed 2 new signings. Firstly, Ryan Cook has joined Bungay - in the 2 Pre-Season games  he has looked very good; after being in Australia for the last 2 seasons we have managed to get him signed and i am delighted he's on board.

Lewis Bilham has also been added to the squad - a Centre-midfielder,very comfortable on the ball, also very strong, and hard and committed in the tackle, gives us a different option with the other midfielders we have already signed.

Two very positive signings in my opinion.

We are still talking to a couple of youngsters that will add quality to our final numbers, but as yet we haven't managed to get either over the line.

So here we go again, another season is upon us. There are a few new signings, and a couple of departures, so i think it's only right that I update you the supporters and followers of our club of all ins and outs.

We would like to wish Mark Clay and Nathan Moore all the very best on their moves to Waveney. Both players  worked hard at certain stages of last season: Nathan must be applauded for staying loyal and playing for the reserves whilst out of the 1st team, he never let the club down, so we wish him all the very best. Mark also was in and out, at times his inconsistency was frustrating from a Manager's point of view, but when he was on it,he certainly caught the eye with some solid performances, he has made the step up to the Premier Division, I'm sure he will give his all in trying to make Waveney's 1st 14.

On last season's squad, I can confirm that the rest are all on board, there are still a couple to sign, but I'm assured both will stay with us,which is a very big positive for the club, keeps stability within the squad.

Our additions have been extended very quickly over the last 7 days:

Jordan Smith (Keeper) - Jordan was last season playing for Bognor Regis Town,a very good keeper, very commanding, did start this pre-season with Kirkley on his return to living back in Lowestoft, but after Kirkley clearly had some other very good options,we managed to get Jordan signed this Tuesday.

Sam Ellis  (Defender): Sam was part of Scott Butler's very talented young Reserve side at Gorleston, but  after straying away from Gorleston, and becoming available, and thanks to AC Mill Lane for co-Operating with us on his signing on form,we managed to convince Sam to join Bungay, a very good young defender, good on the ball and reads the game very well,a very astute move for us.

Reece Evans (Winger): Reece has joined us from neighbours Loddon,a very quick winger, full of pace and skill, also a goalscorer,he has signed and his attitude at training has been outstanding,a player I am sure the supporters will enjoy watching.

Elliot Patrick (Left Sided Player): Elliot has joined us from Kirkley,a player that was 1 of the 1st on our hit-list,and I personally am delighted he is signed and on board, another young talent, brilliant attitude, very good left foot, can be versatile.

Connor Davies ( Winger/Forward/Midfielder): Connor is another youngster we have managed to sign, and this signing came out of the blue, but on just one viewing we have a player in this lad, he is quick with bundles of pace, very keen to join the club, prepared to listen and learn, and falls into the category of youth being encouraged back to the club.

We have other options, yet to sign, which could soon be added to the squad over the next few days after the next 2 friendlies. 4 players were included in the squad for Friday night's friendly against CEYMS who are yet to sign, with another unavailable for both games.

Graham Lewis has been taking pre-Season training, and he has been a breath of fresh air, very organised, players working hard, but enjoying it at the same time. Graham is also part of our new U18 set-up with the Norwich City Link, possibly the club's best addition all summer, and myself and Jeff Rowlands hope Graham becomes part of the 1st team set-up this season.

Any more updates and I will inform you straight away.
