Shaun Whiteman the main winner at adult presentation night

23 May 2018

CAPTAIN Shaun Whiteman took two of the Bungay Town first team awards at the club’s annual presentation night at the Maltings Pavilion on Saturday evening.

Whiteman, who made his 251st first team appearance at Portman Road, Ipswich, recently in the Suffolk Senior Cup final, took the Supporters’ Player of the Year trophy, and the Players’ Player of the Year title.

Seventeen-year-old Tom Hunter was runner-up in both, and he also won the Manager’s Player of the Year award jointly with John Riches. Manager Richard Daniels praised the commitment of all those, and the squad as a whole.

Seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Brandon Ling also picked up two awards. He was named the Saturday Reserves Players’ Player of the Year, and the manager’s Player of the Year for the Sunday Reserves. Manager’s Player for the Saturday Reserves was Tyrone Baynes and for the Sunday Reserves Players’ Player was Reece Evans. Evans also picked up the Golden Boot for the most goals scored throughout the club teams – his 30 included two for the first team.

Stuart Campbell was Sunday first team PIayers’ Player, and Connor Molley was Manager’s Player, as well as the A team’s Players’ Player. Charlie Jones took the A team Manager’s award.

Stu Cook took the Players’ Player award for the Veterans, who won the Veterans’ Shield. Shaun Flint was Manager’s player.

In the U18s – most of whom were U16 - Reece Tillett took the Players’ Player award and Tom Harmer the Manager’s award.

Other awards: Chairman’s special award – secretary Mick Simpson.

Chairman’s Mug – Jake Wilson.
