New Director of Cricket for Bungay Cricket Club

05 February 2018

Dear Bungay CC players,

At this year’s AGM the committee proposed that a new role should be created, namely a director of cricket. The role is intended to oversee playing matters for the club. He will sit on the selection panel alongside the Captains. He will help to integrate those junior players coming through from the colt’s section into the adult teams again by working alongside the captains and senior players. He will provide a point of contact for players regarding playing matters. He will assist the 1st XI Captain run training sessions. He will report to the committee at committee meetings on how the club is progressing from a playing perspective and suggest ideas for making progress in the future. Like other club roles the director of cricket will be voted upon at the AGM each year.

I was asked by the committee if I would consider taking the role and I am proud to have agreed. I am looking forward to helping the club in any way I can and to ensure that I fulfil this role to the best of my ability I will also be involved in Stuart and Olly’s coaching team for the juniors and try to play some more Sunday games as well as league cricket which is my passion.

If any players want to have a chat at any time, then please do get in touch. First order of business is to encourage a good turnout at Senior preseason training. We have a new venue which promises to be great and will be nice to see everyone work out that Winter stiffness. Chris can’t make the first net session, but we have discussed doing a short, fun warm up style activity before we get cracking with a net session. This just helps to get the blood flowing and those fielding skills returning before we all have a bat and a bowl. Junior preseason training starts on the 8th March and runs for the last 4 Thursdays in March.

Hope to see lots of you there.

Cheers,

Nick
