The ladies continue their unbeaten league run with a 5-2 win at home against Taverham -lots of good performances across the squad but special mention to young Sami Penman who made a big impact coming of the bench towards the end of the first half played in a new roll in central mf and made all the difference

Bungay ladies successful run in the Women’s FA Cup came to not an unexpected end on Sunday with a 6-0 defeat at Luton Town
Playing at Luton’s training ground a quality 3G surface but with off field facilities making us grateful for what we have at The Maltings, the ladies gave a good account of themselves playing against the more physically based game of the Luton team who play 3 steps higher in the women’s pyramid
The game was fairly even until half way through the first half when Luton’s fast forwards took advantage of a long through ball to outpace the Bungay defenders and round Bungay keeper Joanne Pipe, shortly after a corner to Luton resulted in a far post headed goal to make it 2-0 at half time
Second half saw much the same issues causing Bungay problems with the more quality set pieces of Luton resulting in further goals
Despite the high work rate of the excellent “Bob” Rigall and Selina Rowland in midfield Luton were able to create more chances with the Bungay back line doing their best to restrict them, a couple more headers and a final flourish from Luton gave the score a slightly more one sided look.Special mention to keeper Joanne Pipe who’s handling and a couple of saves were of the highest order.
Bungay can be proud of the way the squad has played to get this far, some of the players coming in recently from U16’s youth football have been excellent and certainly this run has made a few grow up in football terms quickly, certainly Bungay can look forward now to a good league and local Cup season with this squad.

Following on from their excellent win at Corby Town in the previous round Bungay Ladies travelled to Peterborough to play Riverside ladies in the Women’s Fa cup preliminary round and demolished the opposition 15-0 to progress into the first qualifying road for the first time -and have now been given a tough draw away again at Luton Town Women’s team
On Sunday goals flowed at regular intervals with Leanne Smith scoring 5 in the first have before being substituted to give Riverside a break.

Bungay Town's defence of the NWGFL title did not go as planned with a 2-1 loss at old rivals Thorpe United.
The old failings of Bungay being unable to play their brand of passing football on windy & dry bouncing grounds came back to haunt them as they never really got going and struggled all game to impose themselves. They went 1-0 down to a quick Thorpe through ball in the first half before conceding a second to a penalty when a Thorpe player was allowed to turn and get past the Bungay defensive line before being brought down. Bungay rallied late on with subs showing how it should be done with Shannon Dade scoring on her debut, but by then the damage had been done.

Bungay Town Ladies went into their last league game against Gorleston knowing a victory would probably guarantee the championship-but were handicapped by their long injury list and unavailable players
In the end they battled well and gave 100% but had to settle for a 2-2 draw and must now hope Sprowston drop points in their last 2 games
The early stages were restricted to a midfield battle with limited chances but came to life midway through the half when Emily Leach was put through on goal from Sam Walker’s flick on but put her effort wide. Gorleston then took the lead when a sliced clearance from Bungay fell at the feet of their striker who had no problem scoring passed stand in keeper Jody Wells
Bungay then another opportunity when Emily Leach took a pass around the keeper but placed her effort against the near post, and Sam Walker having a good shot well saved
But the brought the score level when a Leach corner was superbly volleyed into the top corner from the edge of the area by Teo Ille, they then went close again from Selina Rowland when a neat build up gave her a shooting opportunity but the keeper once again saved well
In the second half again a fairly even game but chances for Gorleston were limited by the Bungay defensive line marshalled by stand in central defender Lyndsey Adams, up front Bungay huffed and puffed and tried everything to score eventually Emily Leach’s effort from the edge of the area found its way into the far corner but Gorleston’s equaliser came from a 25yd free kick which flew over Jody Wells -Bungay tried all they could but the long and recently congested league program and their considerable injuries list was now having an effect and despite a few long range efforts and a Selina Rowland header that went wide it was not to be.

Bungay Town Ladies successfully retained the NWGFL league cup on Sunday with a 1-0 win against a stubborn Sprowston side who, although they didn't cause Bungay any real problems, were a very hard side to break down.
On a very hard bouncy pitch which has always been Bungays least favoured surface they controlled the game from the start and with Lauren Purling making good runs wide right had an outlet away from the crowded midfield, however they did tend to rush their opportunities when they did arise, Sam Walker had one superb shot which cannoned back of the far post midway though the first half,but other wayward efforts from Emily Leach and Selina Rowland were all they had in a quite first half. From the restart with the breeze now at their backs, Bungay again dominated possession with Teo Ille and Selina Rowland controlling midfield and if anything did get through the back 4 with Ella Hindley in as replacement centre back playing well, the breakthrough finally came midway though the half well Selina Rowland beat 2 players, got to the edge of the area and struck a powerful shot over the keeper. Bungay saw out the rest of the game untroubled by Sprowston to finish winners once again of the League cup.

Bungay Town ladies continued their pursuit of the Div 1 championship, but with their resources being stretched to the limit by their lengthy injury list they did well to defeat a busy young N'th Walsham side by 5-3. Bungay started well with their midfield pair of Teo Ille and Selina Rowland controlling the game, but it took until the 16th min for them to take the lead when Lauren Purling rising highest to header down passed the keeper from a Nicky Hazell corner, they had other chances from Emily Leach and Sam Walker but it wasn't until the 23rd min that Sam Walker found room to shoot in from 25yrs into the top corner & soon after Emily Leach swivelled round to score an excellent goal from a flicked out throw in to give them a 3-0 lead at half time. From the start of the second half now having the wind and rain behind them Nth Walsham came back into the game and when Bungay only half cleared a corner they scored from a high strike into the roof of Bungays net, as the half continued it was a case of Bungay having to raise their team efforts as they began to now look tired after numerous games in the passed few weeks and when Jody Wells saved well from a Nth Walsham shot only for the ball to hit an onrushing Nth Walsham forward alarm bells began to sound, But Bungay kept battling forward with chances to kill the game off being squandered before a through ball to Sam Walker was driven home, but Nth Walsham were again given a gift when a long shot slid off the wet ground to deceive Jody Wells and end up in the Bungay net, further Bungay chances came but it wasn't until late on that they finally put the game to bed when Emily Leach did well to fire in a shape cross for Nicky Hazell to slide in and score.

Maltings Meadow the venue for this evenings match a hive of activity as usual. Bungay Town selected as one of the FA’s new SSE Wildcats centres their first session held before the game. The main pitch looking in great condition a good size overlooked by the clubhouse in one corner. The weather alot cooler than it was at the weekend today a typical April day sunshine and heavy showers. Clouds looming over the ground it would stay dry for the match.

Both sides not in their regular colours this evening, Bungay taking kick-off 1st half in their all red kit with white trim. Thorpe in their lime green away shirts with black across the chest and shoulders with black shorts and socks. Possession lost from both sides as they close the ball down at the start no one getting hold of it in the middle of the park. Selina Rowland bringing it away moving out to the left looks to play it on up the line for Samantha Walker to chase, Thorpe captain Bethan Sommerfield going with her winning the tackle.

Bungay get bodies forwards Teo Ille with the pass forwards for Emily leach up top has Walker to her right they exchange passes shifting the ball out to the left side of the area with Nicola Hazell bringing clear, going a little early she is flagged offside. Leach holds the ball up inside the D back to goal pushes it out to Walker to the right of goal 25 yards out her first time strike rising over the goal. A bright start from Bungay Rowland with a powerful run forwards as Hazell travels with the ball up the left wing her through ball aiming t pick her out too heavy Thorpe goalkeeper, Cara Anderson able to gather.

Thorpe with the ball on the left the pass played on for Sutton in attack she knocks it forwards looking to get into the box, Charlotte Power going with her the central defence lunging in ahead of her to take the ball.

GOAL! Bungay starting the brighter it’s Thorpe who open the scoring, the ball won in midfield the past through to Sutton central Power with her the defender initially winning the ball, Sutton stays on her pressuring her as she takes the ball away to the byline on the left, Sutton getting the better of her nicking the ball shifts in a from the acutest of angles sends a shot in towards goal the high ball flighted perfectly goes across the goal to nestle inside the far post 0-1.

Rowland is causing problems for Thorpe the Bungay midfielder winning the ball and breaking forwards well to support the attackers. Sets up Walker for a shot 25 yards out her low effort not troubling Anderson. A huge blow for Thorpe as Sutton pulls up hurt inside the Bungay area as she looks to put in a challenge on Power. Looks like her knee is in alot of pain a real blow after lengthy treatment on the pitch can’t continue is carried off Vicky Monsey readied and sent on to assist Leonie Daulby in attack.

GOAL! Doesn’t take Bungay long to find a reply finding the levelling goal. Rowland running on after a long pass on the right picking it up carries it into the area from the byline on the right draws Thorpe players to her evading a challenge sends it into Leach who finds herself unmarked in the centre of the six yard box places the ball wide of the keeper to make it 1-1.

Laura Hedtke wins the ball in the middle for Thorpe her pass into Sharnie Boast, she attempts the through ball into the area for Monsey to chase down, Hannah Jones cutting it out and clearing for Bungay. Bungay turn play around quickly Rowland bringing it forwards looking to send Hazell through from the left into the box the pass too close to Anderson the keeper coming out to the edge of her area to claim the ball.

GOAL! Bungay turn the game completely around taking the lead pushing players forwards up the right Lyndsey Adams with Walker the cross swung into the area Hedtke back to head it away with Rowland making the run into the box, the Bungay midfielder holding her position as possession is reclaimed on the right the ball fired into her opens up her body to steer the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner 2-1.

Bungay Town Ladies suffered a cruel 2-0 defeat in their top two clash at rivals Sprowston FC.
On a hot day and a very bumpy dry pitch, making good football difficult, the game was even until a free kick from deep was punched clear by Beth Clarke but rebounded off Bungay defenders to a Sprowston forward to score easily. Soon after disaster struck as a long clearance from Sprowston went over the Bungay defensive line and a high bounce led to Beth Clarke misjudging her clearance but she got back to try and close a Sprowston player down, only to see the ball roll into the net but worst was she was left in a heap with a suspected broken wrist (later confirmed).
After rearranging their team with Emily Leach having to take the keeper's role, Bungay tried to fight back but were having a bad day and could not manage to play their normal football
In the second half more reorganisation with Nicky Hazel in goal Bungay did at least create a few opportunities but Sprowston were not going to give up their lead and also had their chances
More misery for Bungay came when Abbie Everson was running through and was eased off the ball falling heavily and is now out for a long spell with knee ligaments injuries
The injuries situation at Bungay Ladies is now making the final congested run in a hard slog and with 2 games per week and a cup final in the next weeks they are now going to have to dig deep to continue their double push.

Bungay Ladies continued their pursuit of a league and cup double with a comprehensive 8-0 win against Fakenham Town Ladies. Paying back on the main Bungay pitch for the first time in months due to the bad weather, Bungay made a sluggish start and in fact it was Fakenham that were surprising Bungay with some neat passing football. However things turned around after 15mins with first Emily Leach breaking wide left and a strong cross shot was dispatched in the bottom far corner. Then Sam Walker produced a fine effort from 25yds which sailed over the stranded keeper, Selina Rowland quickly followed with a strong run and shot from equal distance, and before half time Bungay effectively took the game away from Fakenham, when a quick throw and cut back was dispatched high in the net by Sam Walker and just before half time a terrific through ball by Sam was neatly touched round the keeper by Nicky Hazell. In the second half Bungay took their time to get going again with chances not being taken, with the impressive sub Arianna Lloyd back from injury using her speed to great effect, Sam Walker thought she had a stone wall penalty but was surprised to not get one awarded, she soon however completed her hat trick by beating the keeper in a one on one and passing into the empty net, 2 further quality goals followed when Nicky Hazell took on a cut back on the edge from Sam Walker and blasted a shot into the top corner, and finally Selina Rowland pushed forward and went on one of her trademark runs beating 2 Fakenham players and the keeper before setting up Arianna Lloyd to fire into the net

Bungay Town Ladies- Got back to league action after their recent cup exploits with a comprehensive 9-0 "home" win (game played at Saxlingham due to Bungay Marathon ) over bottom side Long Stratton. Bungay started well playing the ball around on a soft sticky surface and soon took the lead with Sam Walker running on to a through ball and sliding the ball home, and when Emily Leach quickly increased the lead with well struck shot it look like a big score was on the cards, but for the rest of the first half Bungay seemed to take their foot off, and struggled to find any more goals despite having numerous opportunities until Sam Walker finished of a slick move to give a 3-0 lead at half time, Bungay changed a few things for the second half and with recent signing Abbie Everson moved forward into midfield giving support to the influential Selina Rowland Bungay dominated and soon goals flowed from Emily Leach completing a hat trick and Selina Rowland a deserved 2 followed by 2 from wide player Lauren Purling to give a final 9-0 win to Bungay to put them back up to second and an opportunity to go top next Sunday at North Walsham

Bungay Town Ladies, playing in the semi final of the Norfolk women’s League cup which they won last season, progressed to this season's final with a 4-3 win at last seasons beaten finalists Thorpe U’td
Bungay started strongly and almost scored in the first minute when Emily leach was put through but the keeper was out quickly to save, they didn’t have to wait long however as Selina Rowlands fine run and cut back was driven in by the incoming Sam Walker.
Soon after Sam battled in midfield for a loose ball and then played it to Nicky Hazell whose excellent driven shot flew over the stranded keeper to put Bungay 2 up. The game them became more of a midfield battle on a very bumpy unforgiving surface making creative play difficult
But when Emily Leach broke forward on to a through ball she calmly stroked the ball home. But Thorpe were given a lifeline when a clearance from Kelly Collins hit Hannah Jones in the face and rebounded to Thorpe’s Rebecca Lake who had an easy job to reduce Bungay's lead at half time to 3-1.
Thorpe tried to get back into the contest but it was Bungay who created chances for Emily leach and Sam Walker both through against the keeper but she covered the shots. Soon after a free kick for Thorpe caused confusion in the Bungay back line and a Thorpe player capitalised
to reduce the arrears, and then Shanice Sutton was given room to turn and shoot from 25yrs to equalise.
But to Bungay's credit they regrouped and after Selina Rowland had one opportunity saved a good move between Nicky Hazell and Emily Leach resulted in her sliding the ball home to regain the lead which they comfortably held on to, to progress to this season's cup final.

Bungay Town Ladies went out of the Suffolk Cup against perennial winners Ipswich Town from 4 leagues higher. However they can hold their heads high, as after a poor start giving Ipswich an early 3 goal lead and 5-0 at half time, they came back with a strong second half display to finally end up losing 7-1 with Emily Leach scoring a deserved goal with Selina Rowland & Sam Walker going close. Keeper Beth Clarke deservedly got player of the match with some confident handling

Bungay Town Ladies remain top of the table after a very entertaining 2-2 draw in the top of the table game at Thorpe U'td. Bungay will feel maybe they should have got the full 3 points but will have to be satisfied with the 1. They started much the better team and dominated possession, and after 15 mins took the lead when the Thorpe keeper pushed a shot out and Nicky Hazell did well to control her return shot into the bottom corner from outside the area. Bungay needed to be wary of the pace of Thorpe's Rebecca Lake on the break and after one warning run she was played in by a ball over the Bungay defence who tried to cover but hesitation lead to a collision between the Bungay keeper and Hannah Jones, resulting in the ball trickling into the net and Hannah having to be replaced. Further Bungay pressure again put Thorpe on the back foot and Emily Leach and Sam Walker went close before a typical Selina Rowland run forward took her past 3 Thorpe defenders before the ball ran through to Sam Walker who slotted the ball neatly past the Thorpe keeper to give Bungay a 2-1 lead at half time. Second half was again mostly played in the Thorpe half, with Emily Leach going close and Teo Ille nearly getting on the end of a neat 1-2. Selina Rowland also went close, heading just wide and then putting a good chance wide from Emily Leach's cut back. But Thorpe were not done, and it required a superb save from the otherwise underused Beth Clarke to keep Bungay's lead intact as she managed to push a shot onto the post. However Thorpe were given a life line as Bungay tried to retain possession, but a mix-up resulted in a Thorpe player cutting in and playing in another forward to score easily. Just on full-time Bungay could have won it when Emily Leach was put through but the ball got under her feet and she placed her shot narrowly wide. A close game and an excellent advert for ladies football as two teams of contrasting styles put on a show for the watching spectators.

Bungay Town Ladies -continued their winning run at the top of NWGFL Div 1 by scoring 8 without reply at mid table Stalham Town
Bungay started brightly playing against the strong breeze and soon took and early lead when Lauren Purling burst past the last defender and beat the advancing keeper, soon after Sam Walker increased the lead with a well taken shot from just inside the area - despite having the balance of play Bungay found goals hard to find but had their chance to increase their lead when Sam Walker was brought down in the box, she picked herself up but unfortunately her resulting penalty clipped the top of the bar, Bungay had the ball in the net again when a delightful move resulted in an offside flag against Sam Walkers "goal"- With the wind in the second half Bungay dominated the play and with their new signing Abbie Everson controlling midfield with Teo Ille they scored at regular intervals, Abbie drove in a half cleared corner for number 3 and when Lauren Purling cut back a cross to Nicky Hazell she finished well, Abbie Everson then ran forward with the ball before firing home from 30yds, Emily Leach deservedly scored the goal of the game with a brilliant 25yd free kick into the top corner, Sam Walker then fired in number 7 from the edge of the area before Selina Rowland completed the scoring with a run and shot the keeper couldn't quite keep out. In between a number of other chances came and a few off-side goals chalked off but a good work out for Bungay Ladies who now have big games to follow against last seasons league winners Thorpe U'td and then an interesting Suffolk Cup game at perennial winners Ipswich Town.

Bungay Town, having gone top during the week due to Aylsham’s results being deleted, took full advantage to move 5 points clear at the top by defeating 3rd place Sprowston 4-2 at a cold but playable Maltings Meadow on Sunday. After an even first period to the game with a few offsides from both teams cutting short goal scoring positions, Bungay took the lead when Emily Leach curled in a free kick which found its way through a packed area to go in at the far post. Sprowston soon got back level as Beth Clarke handed the ball outside her area and was then beaten by the resulting well taken free Kick. But Bungay again took the lead when Selina Rowland struck a superb 30yd effort into the top corner.
The second half was again evenly contested until Bungay took the game away from Sprowston as a well worked goal with an excellent Sam Walker cross was headed on by Emily Leach for Nicky Hazell to run onto and beat the keeper and when a terrific through ball from Selina Rowland put Emily Leach clear she finished calmly.
Sprowston to their credit kept coming at Bungay but the superb back line of Ella Swift Charlotte Power “bob” Riggall and Kelly Collins kept things under control until late on as a Sprowston free kick was not cleared allowing a second goal but Bungay saw the game out comfortably to look strong at the top

Bungay Town Ladies found scoring harder than making chances on Sunday as almost total possession was not converted in goals as they won 5-0 with goals from Nicky Hazell 3 Sam Walker and Selina Rowland
Chances came and went with the frequency of falling autumn leaves throughout the game -Sam walker opened the score with an excellent long range shot further opportunities came and went with even defenders Kelly Collins Charlotte Power and Hannah Jones trying their luck, but only Nicky Hazell also found the net in the first half -Bungay were finding the heavy bumpy pitch hard to play their normal passing game on and struggled again in the second half, Selina Rowland ran through to beat the excellent Long Stratton keeper who was the main reason for keeping the score down with several excellent saves and assured handling but finally Nicky Hazell finished 2 more chances to complete the score -Bungay now move up to 2nd and next week have a top of table game against Sprowston to look forward to.

Bungay Town Ladies cruised through into the semi final of the their league cup with a comprehensive 14-0 win against a young but gallant Bure Valley Wildcats team. Despite being depleted by illnesses and unavailability, which meant that Bungay had to call on some of their shadow squad to fill some spaces, their strength and general play was just too hot for Bure Valley to handle, with goals coming at regular intervals throughout the match. The strike pairing of Emily Leach and Sam Walker is certainly enjoying life at the moment with 6 and 5 goals respectively from them, and further goals coming from the strong midfield of Selina Rowland 2 and Nicky Hazell 1. Allowing the forwards the freedom to play as they now do comes from having a strong defence, and Bungay certainly do have this solid back line to rely on. They will be looking to retain the League Cup they won for the first time last season, and will be watching with interest at the semi final draw coming up, with the game scheduled for 4th March.

Bungay Town Ladies, progressed through to the quarterfinals of the Suffolk Women's cup with a resounding 12-0 romp over Newmarket Towns res team. Bungay began strongly and in only the first min Sam Walker broke through the high defensive line of Newmaket and rounded the keeper to score, goals continued to come from Emily Leach and a deserved one from the hard working Teo Ille, Emily Leach and a further one from Sam Walker made it 5-0 at half time. After the break it was again mostly all Bungay attacking with a further 2 goals for Sam Walker, and another for Emily Leach but the star of the second half was undoubtedly Selina Rowland with 4 well taken goals including the final one when she powered in a Sam Walker cross with a brilliant diving header into the top corner to finish off Bungay's excellent display with a flourish. Now Bungay await the next round draw with hope and expectation of a good run in this season's competition.

Bungay Town Ladies - The current holders of the NWGFL Cup, cruised through to this seasons quarter finals by defeating Wymondham Town Res 6-1 on Sunday. despite playing with a very depleted team due to injuries and unavailability and playing in rain and wind for most of the game this didn't stop Bungay putting in a quality display as they controlled the game from start to finish at The Kings Head ground, with Bungays central midfield of Teo Ille and Selina Rowland having fine games. From the off Bungay were dominate and after 10 mins a fine through ball to the on running Sam Walker from Teo Ille put her through on goal and she finished calmly, soon the same combination repeated the move to increase the lead. Another fine effort from Sam Walker came back off the bar before her strike partner Emily Leach unleashed a curling shot from 25yds in the top corner for 3-0, another Leach effort was headed over the keeper but a combination of the long grass pitch and a brave goal line clearance prevented a 4th before half time.
Second half was again all Bungay with their back line of Ella Swift Charlotte Power ,Hannah Jones and Kelly Collins allowing Wymondhams players any space and soon it was Emily Leach who again scored as a clearance fell to her and she controlled her shot well into the roof of the net from just inside the area, Sam Walker then got away again,her effort beat the keeper but came back off the post, not to be put off she then completed her hat trick with another clear run and cool finish after being put clean through again. Not to be outdone Emily Leach then finished well from a Nicky Hazell corner for her own hat trick, but as the game was just about over Wymondham to their credit scored with a long curling effort that drifted well over a stranded Beth Clarke to give them a consolation
A very pleasing display by the Bungay Ladies who are now beginning to get into playing with the confidence and style that got them so far last season.

Bungay Town Ladies, had a comfortable win at Fakenham Town despite being players down through injury, and will feel the 7-1 win could have been more as second half wasted chances and good goal keeping by ex Bungay player Lauren Taylor kept the score down.
Bungay took a while to get going as Fakenham early on put in some stubborn resistance, but after 25 mins a sharp turn and shot from the edge of the area from Sam Walker opened the scoring, Bungay thought they had a well worked second from Emily Leach but the linesman's flag intervened, but when Sam Walker again found space inside the Fakenham box she finished well, Fakenham pulled one back when a quick raid down Bungays left cause a defensive laps, but Selina Rowland then added a third for Bungay with a good headed goal from a Nicky Hazell corner. Second half was all Bungay possession with Fakenham struggling against constant Bungay pressure, and when Selina Rowland went on one of her trademark runs beating 4 players and a 1-2 with Emily Leach to score early in the half it looked as if more goals would follow but Bungay were their own worse enemy, as despite Emily Leach rattling a fierce volley in off the bar and Eva Evans scoring from close range the only other score was a long range drive from Nicky Hazell, with lots of other attempts going wide of the Fakenham goal or well saved by their overworked keeper,

Energetic start to the second half. Bungay pressing and a cross just cleared off the line by Wymondham.
Bungay completely in control of the game, defence of Kelly Collins, Charlotte Power, Megan Cletheroe and Hannah Jones confidently transferring around the back and finding space down the wings.
65 min excellent individual effort from Kathryn Stanley closing down a ball across the Wymondham defence but her shot rebounds off the post and is cleared.

Bungay Town Ladies - discovered that winning a battle from a seemingly losing position is a very satisfying thing, by trailing 3-1 to Gorleston and then fighting back to take the game 4-3
Things started as brightly as the late "summer" sunshine with Bungay dominating possession and creating chances, but very much against the run of play on 15mins Gorleston broke forward and scored from their first attempt on the Bungay goal, shortly followed by another to increase their lead, Becky Hills then raced through onto a long pass to score but Gorleston then immediately scored again from a scrambed clearance to give the half time score a rather strange looking scoreline for those watching
From the restart in became obvious that Bungay meant business with the hard working Toe Illle controlling midfield and when Emily Leach turned in a free kick from close range it was game on, soon Bungay were level with Becky Hills racing on to a through ball, and midway through the half Selina Rowland headed in Nicky Hazell's corner to give Bungay the lead , which they comfortably held on to, to close out a satisfying win.

Bungay Ladies demonstrated they will not easily give up the league cup they won last season with a 10-0 win against a game Freethorpe side. 
Bungay took a while to get into their stride playing a new formation, with few chances created, but they hit the woodwork twice before Selina Rowland calmly finished at the far post. Emily Leach then finished with a neat chip and again with a classy back heel to make it 3-0 at half time.
Second half was all Bungay possession with further goals from player of match Sam Walker on her debut, 2 from the hard working Becky Hills -3 from Nicky Hazell and finally Eva Evans turning in a cleverly worked free kick.
Credit to the overworked Freethorpe goalkeeper for some outstanding saves in keeping the score down
This result should hopefully get last weeks disappointing result at Wymondham out of their system and move on the the league with confidence

Bungay Town ladies had a bad day "at the office " and proved that despite having the majority of possession that doesn't make the result -and having lost the majority of last seasons successful squad maybe a few lessons have been learned to the new players
A bad 10mins in the first half gifted Wymondham a comfortable 3-0 lead and despite Nicky Hazel pulling a goal back with a 20yd shot the half finished 3-1
Second half was a constant story of Bungay possession with little reward and again a bad mistake followed by a 30yd free kick finished the day off for a beaten Bungay who must now pick up for the defence of the cup they won last season.

Bungay Town Ladies ended this season’s run in the FA Women's Cup at The Arena, home of Eastern Region team Harlow Town, by going down in a close match 3-2. It took Bungay until mid-way through the first half to come to terms with the very fast paced 3G pitch, which Harlow obviously are very used to playing and training on, by which time they found themselves 1-0 down to an early goal. They fought back, and a good run and low cross by Becky Hills was fired in by Emily Leach to bring the scores level. Harlow continued to play slick passing football, but Bungay to their credit did not look out of place in these surroundings, and also looked dangerous on the break, with both defences now restricting the limited chances. However just before the break Harlow were awarded a penalty for a high kicked clearance, but the resulting kick was placed wide leaving an even first half at 1-1.
Having lost the influential Laura Holden to injury in the first half Bungay reshuffled their midfield, with Selina Rowland coming on, and the match continued to be one of very limited chances, until when Bungay stopped for the referee's whistle, allowing Harlow’s quick thinking forward to have a run in on goal and score high past Beth Clarke. Shortly after, a neat move and quick passing gave Harlow a third. But to their credit Bungay pushed Harlow back and when Emily Leach scored from a 20yard shot after 80minutes, it brought a final frantic end to the game, but they were unable to break down Harlow’s defence again. Undoubtedly the major factor was the pitch with Bungay not being used to playing on the very fast paced 3G pitch which although a good surface is certainly not the same as playing on the green grass of home.

Bungay Town Ladies- before I write these notes on our game against Stalham, I feel I must pass on our deep condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Bungay Towns own Aiden Lowe who will be deeply missed, he had friends in the ladies team going back to his school days in Beccles, and he was always supportive and asking about the ladies team, a very sad day for all involved at this club.
By comparison our win in the first league game of the season will be of little significance, but the result was 6-0 to the Bungay Ladies, with goals from Lauren Purling and Selina Rowland in the first half, followed after the break by 2 from Nicky Hazel and one each for Laura Holden and Becky Hills, the pleasing thing is despite loosing over half of last seasons squad to University and other things Bungay have rebuilt a quality squad based on youth and local players and should again be in a strong position to challenge for the league and cups in the coming months.

After last season's first ever win in the FA Women's Cup the Ladies travelled down to Colchester Town ( who play 2 levels higher ) and were throughly deserving to come away with a 4-2 win-which could have been a more emphatic win had they taken all their chances
From the off Bungay played a quality of passing football that Colchester couldn't live with and after 10mins Emily Leach curled in a 25yd free kick to take the lead -which was to only last a few minutes as a defensive lapse gave Colchester the opportunity to draw level -for the rest of the first half it was a story of Bungay domination with a catalogue of near misses and brave goal keeping from Colchester to keep the score at the break 1-1
With a bit of management tinkering at half time Bungay Ladies again had Colchester under pressure and when new signing Selina Rowland cleverly cut inside 2 players she produced a quality strike from 20yds deserving to regain the lead-shorty after another new player Becky Hills placed a shot inside the keepers far post to increase the lead -but against the run of play again a defensive error allowed Colchester to reduce the arrears -Bungay then went on to rattle the post and bar twice before a corner from Nicky Hazel (player of match)was headed back to Becky Hills to shoot home giving Bungay a deserved win.

The final fixture of the season for the ladies was an away trip to King's Lynn, where a win for either side would mean 6 points as opposed to 3, the fixture being played as a double-header. And with no substitutes available Bungay knew they were in for a tough afternoon.
The match started fast paced, both sides looking for an early lead and having equal amounts of possession. Bungay striker Lacey Andrews came close to opening the scoring when she fired a shot toward's the Lynn goal but this was easily collected by the keeper. Action was end to end and Lynn were awarded the first corner of the match after 8 minutes. This was successfully cleared by Bungay's defence and the ball was soon back into Lynn's half.
But Lynn were soon back on the attack and were applying pressure in waves on Bungay's midfield and back line. But Bungay were dealing with the pressure well and managing to clear the ball back upfield.
15 minutes gone and Lynn managed to get forward into a shooting position but the shot was high and sailed over the crossbar of the Bungay goal. Then it was Bungay back on the attack and a through ball from Andrews found the feet of midfielder Laura Holden whose shot rounded the keeper, 1-0 Bungay. This seemed to invigorate Lynn and a spell of corners followed, Bungay now struggling to clear their lines. But they dug in and still Lynn couldn't get on the scoresheet themselves despite all of the pressure that they were applying.
Bungay finally managed to get the ball back into Lynn's half and were easily getting through Lynn's shaky defence. 38 minutes gone and Bungay's Nicky Hazell managed to fire a shot from an acute angle towards the Lynn goal which brushed the top of the crossbar and went out of play. Then Holden hit the bar herself, the final finish was evading Bungay.
Lynn then regained possession and pressed forward, having another attempt on goal but again this was wide. And on the 45 minute mark, a lack of communication in Bungay's backline saw keeper Ruth Smart rush out of goal and the Lynn attacker was able to lift the ball over her and into the back of the net, 1-1.
But Bungay were not done this half and a couple of minutes into injury time Holden made a solo run through the Lynn defence to slot the ball home and finish the half, 2-1 Bungay.

Halftime score: 2-1 Bungay

Bungay started the second half brightly, trying to build on their lead. And 2 minutes into the half Andrews made a run up the right wing, playing the ball back to Hazell who crossed into the box. Holden was there to collect and despite the Lynn keeper getting down low her shot hit the bottom of the post and bounced into the back of the net, 3-1 Bungay.
But Lynn were not deterred and pressed forward again, and on 53 minutes hit a ball from the edge of the area which sailed into the corner of the Bungay goal, 3-2. A minute later Bungay were back into Lynn's half and another shot from Holden went just wide of goal. Then it was Andrews who took a shot, but this was saved well by Lynn's keeper.
A real battle was now developing in midfield and the game was becoming stretched, Bungay's legs tiring with no options on the bench. 68 minutes gone and another shot from Lynn, this time Smart getting down well and pushing the ball wide of the post. A few minutes later it was Holden on the attack again for Bungay with another solo run down the right wing, her shot going marginally wide of the far post.
Then on 76 minutes Andrews broke forward, this time her shot going just over the bar. Bungay were trying their hardest to secure the points and on 82 minutes were awarded a corner, Hazell looping the ball into the box but Lynn's keeper was well placed to calmly collect.
A couple of minutes later and Lynn were on the attack, looking for the equaliser. But Bungay were finishing the game on top, putting Lynn under pressure as the match neared it's end. A final attempt by Lynn saw Smart get down well to save a low shot. And at the final whistle Andrews putting another shot just wide.

The ladies penultimate game of the season was played midweek under the lights at Maltings Meadow with an evening kickoff. Having taken all three points with a single goal at the last meet Aylsham started the match well, immediately applying pressure to Bungay's back four. But Bungay soon began to settle into the game and were starting to pass and spread the ball well.
Then on 7 minutes a goal for Bungay, midfielder Teo Ilie playing the ball to striker Stef Cool, whose shot was parried by the Aylsham keeper. But Bungay midfielder Laura Holden was there to collect and see the ball into the back of the net, 1-0 Bungay. Bungay continued to dominate possession and were getting the ball into Aylsham's half. But on 13 minutes Aylsham hit a shot from range after a mix-up in Bungay's midfield, and the ball was looped high over makeshift keeper Lacey Andrews to make the score 1-1.
Bungay were soon back on the attack though and 18 minutes in midfielder Emily Leach took a corner, the ball going just over the bar and resting on the top of the net. They were dominating possession again and on 26 minutes Holden fired a shot from range which sailed just over the goal. It was Holden again who then played a ball through to Ilie whose shot was saved, quickly followed by another shot from Cool, but again Bungay couldn't find the back of the net.
42 minutes gone and Aylsham fired a shot towards the Bungay goal but Andrews was quick to react and the ball was pushed wide of the post. The resulting Aylsham corner was scrambled away but Bungay's lines were not cleared and another Aylsham shot went just wide.
In the last minute of the half Bungay winger Lauren Purling made a run through on the Aylsham goal down the left wing but her shot was just wide of the post.

Halftime score: 1-1

Bungay started the second half knowing that the game was there for the taking having dominated most of the possession in the first half. And 3 minutes in a Becky Goffin clearance saw Ilie pass the ball through to Holden whose shot tested the Aylsham keeper once again. There was a scramble in Aylsham's area to clear the ball but Bungay couldn't capitalise and the ball was scrappily cleared away.
The ball was soon back into Bungay's half though and Leach, who had gone into the Bungay goal for the second half, got up well to make a fingertip save from an Aylsham shot on 51 minutes. Then on 54 minutes Holden made a solo run form the midfield, rounding several Aylsham players and slotting the ball into the back of the net, 2-1 Bungay.
Bungay were enjoying good spells of possession again and another goal came when Purling managed to chip the ball over the onrushing Aylsham keeper in the 57th minute, 3-1 Bungay. Bungay were now looking to get the ball to Andrews who had come out of goal and back to her normal position of striker for the second half.
But still Aylsham weren't giving up and Bungay were having to defend well. Purling then got forward again though, this time her header going just wide. And another header from Ellie Froud went just over the bar.
5 minutes from time and Froud hit another shot from range, this time the keeper parrying the ball out for a Bungay corner. And as the match reached its conclusion Bungay were finishing on top, Andrews going one on one with the keeper who rushed out to close her down, but Andrews managed to round her, the ball bobbling into the back of the net, 4-1.

On paper it was down to be a fairly even contest, Thorpe having won two of the three games played against each other in the league, Bungay taking all three points from the third.
And the match started evenly as expected, action was end to end straight from the kick off. Bungay were making some attacking runs forward into Thorpe's half but were getting caught offside with both Teo Ilie and Lacey Andrews falling foul of the linesman's flag.
Then on 9 minutes a freekick awarded to Thorpe was delivered well but was headed over the crossbar. 15 minutes gone and Bungay striker Andrews made a powering run forward but Thorpe were quick to defend and managed to clear their lines. A minute later the ball was back into Bungay's half and a Thorpe shot saw the ball sail just over and onto the top of the net.
A couple of minutes later and Bungay's Laura Holden made a driving run forward down the right wing and as she looked to set up a shot Thorpe's keeper was out of her goal and smothered the ball well. 23 minutes gone and Bungay's Lauren Purling chipped a neat ball into the path of Andrews, but again she was deemed offside.
Half an hour gone and Bungay defender Charlotte Power found herself one on one with a Thorpe attacker, keeper Ruth Smart came out to assist and a shot was fired up and over but fortunately this went wide of goal. Then play switched to another Bungay attack, this time Andrews making a run down the left, and the ball was played to Purling who found herself one on one with the Thorpe keeper, but her shot was wide.
39 minutes gone and Bungay had their first corner of the match. The ball was looped in well but Bungay couldn't capitalise. Then 3 minutes from halftime Thorpe striker Rebekah Lake surged forward and a mix up in Bungay's defence saw her fire a shot towards goal which sailed into the bottom lefthand corner, 1-0 Thorpe.
Bungay continued to press though and had a freekick awarded, Emily Leach sending the ball into the Thorpe penalty area but Bungay were unable to find a finish.

Halftime score: 1-0 Thorpe

Bungay knew the match was still there for the taking as they had had a lot of possession in the first half. And 5 minutes into the second half a throw in from Bungay defender Hannah Jones was controlled well by midfielder Emily Leach who fired a shot from range, the ball looping over the keeper and into the back of the net, 1-1.
The ball was soon back in Bungay's half though, with them conceding a corner on 55 minutes. But they defended well and cleared the ball away from danger. 62 minutes gone and Purling had made another run forward, this time playing the ball through to the feet of Andrews who managed to fire off a shot which rounded the keeper and trickled into the net, 2-1 Bungay.
Thorpe were battling hard to regain possession and it was becoming a real contest in the middle of the pitch. 76 minutes gone and Bungay were awarded another freekick, Leach again delivering a shot at goal but the Thorpe keeper got up well and managed to use her fingertips to collect.
However, Thorpe were straight back into Bungay's half following the subsequent goal kick but keeper Smart came out well to evade the Thorpe attack. Thorpe were now piling on the pressure, trying to seek the equaliser. But Bungay were holding firm and a minute from normal time Ilie fired a shot but this was straight into the keepers hands.
As the game entered into added on time for injuries Bungay's Nicky Hazell had a shot smothered by the Thorpe keeper which looked to be out of the area but the lineman's flag stayed down. Thorpe continued to press but time was running out and at the final whistle Bungay Ladies had won the NWGFL League Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
 

The home team started the game well, pressing forward straight from the kick off and getting the ball into Bungay's half. A couple of minutes in Bungay's Nicky Hazell put in a solid tackle to put the ball out for a North Walsham corner. Bungay managed to clear their lines and got the ball to striker Lacey Andrews who powered forward down the left wing, but Walsham's defence pushed her wide and the ball went out of play.
5 minutes gone and Bungay's Laura Holden won the visitors their first corner of the match. The ball was cleared by North Walsham and went out for another corner. This time Holden connected with Hazell's ball in and headed the ball into the net, 1-0 Bungay.
Bungay were now putting pressure on Walsham and were rewarded another corner in the 9th minute, but it’s delivery was poor and the ball went behind the goal line. Another Bungay attack a couple of minutes later saw Holden play a through ball to winger Teo Ilie whose shot was straight at the keeper.
Quarter of an hour gone and Bungay were now settling into the match and were dominating possession. An Andrews free kick was headed just wide of goal by Hazell.
Walsham were battling hard and trying to break down Bungay's back line. But Bungay were solid and were stopping any Walsham attacks. 25 minutes in and Bungay won another corner, but this was again cleared by Walsham. The half was now becoming end to end action and Walsham were looking for the equaliser. But on 38 minutes a mix up in the Walsham defence saw the ball played back to the keeper who lost grip of the ball and Bungay winger Lauren Purling was there to tap the ball across the line, 2-0 Bungay.
Walsham were still pressing forward as the half ended and a shot sailed just wide of the Bungay goal.

Halftime score: 2-0 Bungay

The first minute of the second half saw another Bungay goal, this time Holden making a solo run from the midfield and rounding several Walsham defenders, the keeper parrying her initial shot but the rebound entered the net, 3-0 Bungay. A few minutes later an Andrews shot sailed just over the crossbar. Then Purling made a powerful run down the left wing and was brought to ground just outside the area. Advantage was played and the ball reached Andrews but Walsham's defence were alert and the ball was cleared out for a corner. Purling made contact with the delivery but the ball came off the back of her head to go just wide of goal.
Bungay continued to dominate and press forward in numbers, another Andrews ball to Holden again going just wide of goal. Then on 63 minutes another Holden shot saw the keeper lose grip of the ball and it trickled over the line, 4-0 Bungay.
A few minutes later Hazell with another powerful shot at goal, but this time it was pushed wide by the out-stretched Walsham keeper. Bungay then won another corner but Ilie's shot was wide. Walsham were not giving in though and were managing to still get forward, but Bungay's defence were solid and nothing was getting through.
72 minutes gone and Bungay won another free kick, this time delivered by midfielder Emily Leach, the ball reaching the feet of Ilie whose strike flew into the net, 5-0 Bungay. A Hazell through ball to Andrews saw her again taken wide by the Walsham defence, and her resulting shot was stopped by the keeper. Then on 81 minutes another Andrews shot was saved, the ball falling to Ilie once again, but this time her shot too was saved. A couple of minutes from time a lapse of concentration from Bungay's defence saw the ball played through by Walsham and despite Bungay keeper Ruth Smart having the ball at her body it somehow broke free and Walsham got themselves a concellation goal, 5-1.
In a final attack Bungay's Andrews battled through the Walsham defence and despite being tackled to the ground she managed to fire off a shot but this was saved by the Walsham keeper.
 

 Bungay started the game well and had all of the play straight from kick off, getting straight into Aylsham's half and applying pressure on their defence. It wasn't until 5 minutes had been played that Aylsham had their first real attack of the game, but they then started to settle into the game and the action became end to end with both sides looking for an early goal.
18 minutes gone and Bungay midfielder Laura Holden fired a shot from distance but this was calmly collected by Aylsham's keeper. But Aylsham were pressing forward in numbers and Bungay's defence were having to work hard. And with 25 minutes gone the ball became loose in Bungay's area due to some scrappy defending but the resulting shot was straight into Bungay keeper Ruth Smart's hands.
Bungay were now really struggling to clear their lines and Aylsham had two corners in quick succession. But luckily for the visitors Aylsham still failed to capitalise. It was now all Aylsham and Bungay were finding it difficult to get out of their own half.
But on 38 minutes a break away run by Bungay striker Lacey Andrews saw her shot sail just wide. A couple of minutes later a Bungay corner was cleared by Aylsham and the ball was back in Bungay's half, and was then cleared for an Aylsham corner. Again Bungay were slow to clear and a shot directly at Bungay's keeper saw her lose grip and push the ball up and over into the net, 1-0 Aylsham.

Aylsham started the second half much as they finished the first, controlling play and spreading the ball well. But Bungay then had two quick attacks and a corner, and on 52 minutes Hannah Waters played a neat through ball to Andrews whose shot went just wide. A couple of minutes later Waters forced the Aylsham keeper to make a run out of goal but despite the ball rounding the keeper it rolled wide of goal. Then another break away run from Andrews down the right wing saw her pull the ball back across the box to Nicky Hazell, but again the resulting shot went wide.
65 minutes gone and Andrews had again pushed forward and crossed the ball to Waters but the ball just evaded her. Bungay were now throwing everything at Aylsham and trying to find a way back into the match. They were keeping the pressure on and another shot from Hazell sailed over the bar.
Then on 79 minutes the ball was received by Bungay's Laura Holden but again her shot went wide. Bungay were getting so much more of the play this half but were struggling to finish.
And as the game neared its end an Andrews shot at the keeper was fumbled but an on-running Nicky Hazell was unable to finish.

 With outstanding fixtures backing up the ladies managed to arrange a midweek evening match with title rivals North Walsham this Wednesday just gone. The team tend to prefer a night game and results this season have confirmed that.
And it was Bungay who started the match on top, applying pressure in Walsham's half straight away, and their reward came in only the second minute when winger Lauren Purling got the ball in the net, 1-0 Bungay. Walsham switched on and started to get more into the match, pressing the ball forward and creating numerous attacks. Bungay conceded a couple of quick free kicks but Walsham didn't capitalise on them.
Then in the 13th minute Walsham's attack were through one on one with the Bungay keeper and the ball was skillfully played around her and into the back of the net, 1-1.
The game was end to end and the crowd were loving the non-stop action, a minute after Walsham scored Bungay's Nicky Hazell firing a shot at goal which crashed against the crossbar. Walsham's defence scrambled to clear from the box but Lauren Purling fought to retain possession and the result was a further goal for Bungay which she tapped in over the goalline, 2-1.
Walsham were straight back into Bungay's half, driving forward in numbers. But Bungay were soon back into Walsham's half, with midfielder Laura Holden battling through Walsham's defence in the 18th minute and scoring a third for Bungay, 3-1. A minute later Bungay striker Lacey Andrews shot went just wide. It was all Bungay pressure now with another Andrews shot from range hitting the bar. And then a solo run from Hannah Waters drew several Walsham defenders to her but the ball was eventually won and cleared from danger before she was given the opportunity to shoot.
Then on 33 minutes Walsham managed to get a break and found themselves on the scoresheet once again, 3-2. They were finishing the half with a flourish and another powerful shot sailed just over Bungay's crossbar.

Halftime score: 3-2 Bungay

Bungay started the second half much as the first, getting the ball forward into dangerous areas. An early attack down the right wing by Andrews saw her pushed wide of goal. A few minutes later another Waters solo run saw her release a shot at goal but this was straight to the keeper.
Then on 58 minutes an Andrews shot was parried up in the air by Walsham's keeper who had initially saved but ended up putting the ball into the net, 4-2 Bungay. A Bungay freekick was then awarded and delivered into the box by Nicky Hazell with captain Kelly Collins going up for a header but the ball flew just over her and out of play.
Then on 64 minutes Hannah Waters looped a shot up and over the Walsham keeper but this was dramatically cleared by the Walsham defence. A minute later an Andrews through ball fell to the feet of Waters who this time calmly slotted the ball beyond the keeper, 5-2 Bungay.
Bungay were playing the ball well and spreading play, with another Andrews pass being received by Teo Ilie whose shot sailed just over the crossbar. A couple of minutes later Andrews claimed her second of the match making it 6-2 Bungay.
As the match entered into the final minutes Bungay were still battling and looking for more goals, with Lauren Purling making a run up the right wing and crossing the ball into Emily Leach, but she was unable to release a shot and the Walsham keeper got down and smothered the ball well at the near post.
But then another Bungay goal came as Laura Holden played a ball through to Waters to score her second of the match, 7-2 Bungay. The last minute of the match saw Waters cross into the box but Holden was unable to evade the Walsham keeper with her shot who calmly collected.

King's Lynn started to settle and were working the ball well up the pitch, the match being played at a fast pace. And 14 minutes in they had their first real attempt on the Bungay goal, a ball being sent across the goal but going wide.

A couple of minutes later Bungay midfielder Laura Holden took the ball along the right wing and cut inside the Lynn defence, her cross deflecting back to her but the resulting shot went out for a goalkick.

20 minutes in and Bungay were applying real pressure in Lynn's half, getting the ball forward into dangerous positions. But a few minutes later the ball was back in Bungay's half and Lynn were awarded a corner. The delivery was good but the resulting shot sailed over the bar.

And after a prolonged period of Lynn attack Bungay were slow to clear their lines and the ball was played across the box but luckily for the visitors the ball ended up going just wide of the goal.

Lynn were now taking the game to Bungay and on 36 minutes they got their reward when a scramble by Bungay to clear the ball gave Lynn the opportunity to shoot from distance and the ball sailed into the far corner of the net, 1-0 Lynn.

Bungay finished the half with a flourish though with a Nicky Hazell shot at the other end just looping over the goal. And in the final minute of the half a Nicky Hazell corner fell to the head of centreback Jess Keeling whose rising header evaded the Lynn keeper into the net.

Halftime score:  1-1

King's Lynn came out the stronger at the start of the second half, quickly getting the ball forwards and testing Bungay's defence. But 4 minutes into the half an up in the air clearance from Lynn's defender was collected by Bungay striker Lacey Andrews who curled the ball around the oncoming keeper and into the net, 2-1 Bungay.

Bungay were starting to dominate again and in the 53rd minute scored again, this time a Lauren Purling through ball to Andrews who broke past two defenders and shot past the keeper, 3-1 Bungay.

Lynn continued to battle hard and managed to work the ball back up into Bungay's half, Bungay's keeper Ruth Smart rushing out of goal but the ball was neatly sent past her to make it 3-2 in the 56th minute. But Bungay were straight back into Lynn's half, Laura Holden firing a shot from outside the box but straight into the keepers hands.  A few minutes later a Lacey Andrews freekick sailed over the Lynn defence but the ball was just too high for winger Lauren Purling to connect.

Then on 69 minutes Bungay leftback Kelly Collins was judged to have handled the ball in the box, but the resulting penalty kick was superbly saved by the outstretched right hand of Smart, pushing the ball wide of goal. A minute later another Andrews shot was high over the Lynn bar.  And this was closely followed by a Jess Keeling freekick which fell to Andrews whose shot dipped straight into the keepers hands.

But Lynn were straight back into Bungay's half after this spell of pressure and a powerful shot from range sailed over the keeper and into Bungay's net, 3-3.

The match was now a real battle with both teams going for the win. 10 minutes from time a Bungay corner looped over the box with no-one able to connect. A minute later another Andrews shot went high over the bar. Bungay were pushing hard and another break forward by Holden resulted in the ball being played out to Hazell who took a shot from the edge of the box but straight to the keepers hands.

A last minute venue change for this midweek league fixture due to an unplayable home pitch, Lowestoft Town FC providing the facilities to get the match played.
And Bungay started well, attacking the Kirkley half straight from kick off, defender Ellie Froud playing the ball through the midfield to striker Hannah Waters who herself played the ball off to fellow striker Lacey Andrews but the shot was wide. A couple of minutes later and another Andrews shot from the left hand side but again this is wide. Then on 7 minutes Bungay midfielder Laura Holden threads a pass to Andrews whose shot goes high over the Kirkley keeper and drops into the net, 1-0 Bungay.
Only a couple of minutes later Bungay score again, a Nicky Hazell ball received by Hannah Waters who sends the ball across goal and into the far corner, 2-0. Bungay are getting the ball forward well and creating attack after attack, breaking forward in numbers. 21 minutes gone and Andrews sends another looping shot goalwards but this is easily collected by the Kirkley keeper. Then Hannah Waters with another shot herself but again the keeper collects.
Still Bungay continue to attack, Andrews firing a low shot with pace towards goal but Kirkley's keeper is quick to get down to save. Kirkley are trying to press forward but Bungay's defence are working well and blocking their attacking runs. Then just past the half hour mark Lacey Andrews takes another shot from range which loops over the keeper once again, 3-0 Bungay. Play is still all with Bungay and 41 minutes gone winger Lauren Purling plays a ball to Hannah Waters who drives her shot low into the far left corner to net her second of the match, 4-0 Bungay.
The home side are finishing the half strongly and a minute from halftime a Lacey Andrews shot is saved, the rebound from Hannah Waters saved well again with Kirkley's keeper getting down quickly but unable to hold onto the ball, Bungay defender Hannah Jones steps up and taps the ball into the net, 5-0 Bungay.

The second half starts much as the first with Bungay breaking forward, defender Hannah Jones managing to turn in the corner and cross the ball to Lauren Purling who fires off a shot but Kirkley's keeper is quick off her line to come out and make a save. Bungay are dominating and pressing high.
55 minutes in and Andrews fires another long range shot from the right hand edge of the 18 yard box, the ball evading the keeper and finishing in the net, 6-0 Bungay. Bungay are having all of the play, Kirkley unable to provide any real test for Bungay's back four.
On 67 minutes another Andrews shot goes just wide of the post, and a few minutes later a Bungay free kick is hit by Andrews over the Kirkley wall but is easily collected by the keeper.
The shots on goal continue as the half wore on but Kirkley's keeper was alert and continued to keep them in the game. Most of Bungay's shots were now going straight to her hands but they were still working the ball across the pitch and spreading play well.
Despite the dominance of Bungay throughout the half however no further goals were scored.

Straight from kick off possession was all with Bungay, who were looking to build on last Sunday's victory over previously unbeaten league leaders Thorpe United. Today's opposition Fakenham Town started with only 10 players and were finding it hard to break out of their own half. Two corners in quick succession from Bungay 6 minutes into the match resulted in no great pressure on the Fakenham goal, the wind blowing strongly and hampering play.
A couple of minutes later midfielder Laura Holden's shot was easily collected by the Fakenham keeper with no real power behind it. Then Bungay defender Hannah Jones with another attempt on goal, but again Fakenham's keeper was not troubled, the ball finishing comfortably in her arms.
But then on 11 minutes it was Hannah Jones who opened the scoring with her first goal of the season, the ball bobbling along the ground and past Fakenham's keeper, 1-0 Bungay.
20 minutes in and Fakenham were really struggling to get a hold of the ball, the runs they were making forward being easily intercepted by Bungay's back four. Bungay were dominating possession and using the extra man to good effect, holding the ball up well.
25 minutes gone and winger Lauren Purling made a strong run forward down the right flank, pulling the ball back across the box and to the feet of Bungay striker Lacey Andrews whose shot went agonisingly over the crossbar. Three minutes later a heavy challenge in the box on Andrews by a Fakenham defender resulted in a penalty to the home team. Andrews stepped up and calmly placed the ball in the net, 2-0 Bungay.
Fakenham were still battling hard and getting some good spells of possession in the midfield but this was being broken down by Bungay's solid defence with no real option for them up front.
Then on 41 minutes a Lacey Andrews corner sailed into the box, winger Lauren Purling heading the ball goalwards and evading the Fakenham keeper, 3-0 Bungay.

As the second half kicked off possession was all with Bungay again and an early cross into the box by Lacey Andrews was cleared by Fakenham's defence. Bungay defender Becky Goffin picked up the rebound from outside the box, firing the ball goalwards, her shot crashing against the bottom of the far post and away from goal.
Then 7 minutes into the half new signing Teo Ilie got onto the scoresheet on her debut, Fakenham's keeper coming off her line but the ball rolling into the far corner, 4-0 Bungay. A couple of minutes later another Lauren Purling cross into the box fell to Lacey Andrews but again her shot was wide, the wind causing havoc with the pace of the ball.
Left back Kelly Collins (C) then found herself in space after a run up the left flank, but her shot was straight to the keeper. Tired legs were now appearing in the Fakenham team who had battled well being a player down and in ever increasing swirling wind conditions. But Bungay pressed forward again, Laura Holden's shot looping up in the air but falling into the Fakenham's keepers hands.
Then on 65 minutes Kelly Collins broke forward again down the left sending a well timed ball to the feet of Lauren Purling who netted her second of the afternoon, 5-0 Bungay. Not long after another Bungay attack saw Becky Goffin push forward up the right, her cross falling to Lacey Andrews whose shot was just wide of the far post.
With Bungay legs now tiring too Fakenham found themselves through into Bungay's half, but the resulting shot lacked power and was easily collected by Bungay's keeper Ruth Smart. A minute later (85) Bungay winger Nicky Hazell fired off a shot from distance, hitting the top of the post. Again Fakenham broke forward, but their shot was once again comfortably saved by Smart.
Bungay continued to push forward till the final whistle and a Jess Keeling through ball reached Lacey Andrews who ran through the Fakenham midfield and fired off a shot resulting in a further goal for Bungay, 6-0.

Bungay went into the game knowing that their opposition, the current league leaders Thorpe United, had not dropped any points all season, winning every game so far. It had the potential to be a tough afternoon for the home team.
And Thorpe were straight at Bungay from the off, applying early pressure and testing Bungay's back line. But 2 minutes in Bungay broke forward and winger Nicky Hazell sent a looping shot towards the Thorpe goal but the ball was successfully parried wide by the keeper. A couple of minutes later midfielder Laura Holden ran through Thorpe's defence and fired off a shot, but this too went frustratingly wide.
Thorpe were still taking the game to Bungay though despite the breaks that Bungay were getting and it was a real battle in midfield, with some hard challenges being made by both sides. And in the 7th minute a run into Bungay's defence by Thorpe's striker Rebekah Lake meant two Bungay defenders had to see her wide.
Then 19 minutes in another break forward by Bungay with Nicky Hazell's well-timed pass finding the feet of Laura Holden whose shot from a central position just outside the 18 yard box sailed into the back of the net, 1-0 Bungay. Both teams were now fighting for the ball well and it was becoming a real contest. Just before the half hour mark Bungay striker Lacey Andrews broke through the Thorpe defence and took a shot from the edge of the box but the ball powered into the side netting of Thorpe's goal. Bungay were starting to see more of the ball now, their 1-0 lead pushing them on, and the forward attacks were coming thick and fast as the half came to an end.
On 45 minutes a free kick taken by Nicky Hazell fell to the feet of winger Lauren Purling who fired the ball goalwards, evading the keeper and into the back of the net, 2-0 Bungay.
But Thorpe finished the half with a flurry, and got on the scoresheet themselves just before the halftime whistle, a ball sent through to Rebekah Lake once again, her shot looping over the stretching Bungay keeper Ruth Smart.

Both teams started the second half strongly, the battles in midfield continuing on from the first half. 3 minutes into the half another Nicky Hazell shot that agonisingly hit the crossbar and flew up and over the goal out of play. Bungay were getting the ball forward well and into attacking positions. Then on 55 minutes striker Stef Cool sent a ball through to Nicky Hazell whose shot was smothered by the Thorpe keeper, but the ball came free and Stef Cool took a shot but this was high over the crossbar.
Thorpe had now started to up the tempo and were finding themselves more in Bungay's half, with Bungay's defence working hard to stop the numerous Thorpe attacks that were coming through from the midfield. But another Bungay break on 58 minutes, Nicky Hazell's shot from distance hitting the post, but Laura Holden collecting the rebound and firing the ball over the keeper to net her second of the afternoon, 3-1 Bungay.
Thorpe were still in the game though despite the scoreline and were battling hard to get the ball forward and through Bungay's solid back four. But 66 minutes gone and another break forward by the home side saw Nicky Hazell finally find the back of the net, 4-1 Bungay.
10 minutes later another shot from distance by Bungay's Lauren Purling was dramatically saved one handed by Thorpe's agile keeper who got down low to push the ball wide.
Thorpe were still pushing forward in numbers and had not given up, and managed to fire a shot at Bungay's keeper Ruth Smart which was forced out of her hands but cleared from danger by centre back Jess Keeling.
In a final flourish by Thorpe, Bungay's keeper was forced to make a one handed save herself similar to that made by Thorpe's keeper earlier in the half. But Bungay hung on till the final whistle, celebrating a sweet victory and being the first NWGFL Division 1 side to beat the league leaders this season.

Bungay started the match brightly and were soon battling well in Brandon's half, testing their defence straight from the off. Brandon kept composed though and were passing the ball well themselves in midfield.
But the first break of the game came for the visitors when Bungay striker Stef Cool's low shot was parried by the Brandon keeper, the ball then collected by Laura Holden whose second attempt on goal evaded the keeper, 1-0 Bungay.
Bungay kept the pressure on and were pinning Brandon back into their own half, sending in several wide balls to the edge of the box, but these were successfully cleared. Then in the 13th minute a Bungay corner, the ball falling to centre back Jess Keeling but was headed high and over the crossbar. A minute later Bungay had another shot on goal with midfielder Ella Hindley firing the ball high and wide.
Brandon were now starting to settle into the game though and were pushing forward themselves. But Bungay were soon back into Brandon's half, taking two corners in quick succession but unfortunately these were fruitless.
Then on 30 minutes Laura Holden raced forward crossing the ball to Nicky Hazell who fired it goalwards from long range but this frustratingly sailed over the bar.
38 minutes gone and Brandon were awarded a free kick not far outside the 18 yard box, but this was fired straight at Bungay's wall, the ball becoming free and picked up again by Brandon's attack but the resulting cross into the box came to nothing. In the dying seconds of the first half Stef Cool got through on goal once again and fired a low shot which was comfortably received by Brandon's keeper.

Halftime score: 1-0 Bungay

As the second half began Brandon pressed forward, immediately putting Bungay's defence under pressure. But Bungay's back line were solid, and cleared their lines well. A real battle was now emerging in midfield, with both sides trying to find a way through towards goal.
20 minutes in Laura Holden drove forwards, past two Brandon players and laid the ball off to Stef Cool who slotted past the keeper, 2-0 Bungay.
Three minutes later another through ball delivered by Holden, this time to Nicky Hazell who fired over the crossbar.
Bungay were starting to dominate once more, another run from the midfield by Ella Hindley resulted in a curling shot straight into the Brandon's keepers hands.
31 minutes into the half and it was Laura Holden again who played a ball through to the far post which resulted in the ball being rolled into the net from short range by Stef Cool, 3-0 Bungay.
Brandon kept composure despite the scoreline and were still battling hard in the middle of the pitch, but another solo break by Stef Cool saw her shot fired high over the bar. And two minutes from time a further shot came from Cool but tiring legs on a heavy pitch meant it lacked power and was easily saved by the Brandon keeper.

After a call-off of last week's match due to the hard frost Bungay were back to NWGFL league action this week. Their opponents were only one place behind them in the Division 1 table so an even contest looked the order of the afternoon.
But it was Aylsham who started the match the stronger, pushing forward straight from the off and causing problems for the Bungay defence. But Bungay broke on the counter and midfielder Inna Marx played a fine through ball to striker Stef Cool in the 2nd minute who was pushed wide by Aylsham's defence, but managed to play the ball back into the box to the feet of Nicky Hazell whose shot went just wide.
Then in the 5th minute Bungay had a corner but Aylsham's keeper was playing well and made a good save to push the ball wide.
The middle of the park was proving a very even contest for both sides but Aylsham were struggling to get the ball into the final third, Bungay's defence now working very well to clear their lines.
In the 17th minute another Bungay corner, this time the ball firing across the Aylsham goalmouth but no-one able to finish and the ball continued out of play. Bungay got the ball forward again a few minutes later and although midfielder Ella Hindley was pushed into the corner she managed to get the ball around the Aylsham player and send a cross into winger Lauren Purling whose shot was deflected to the feet of Stef Cool, but her own shot was scuppered by Aylsham's keeper.
Bungay were settling well into the game now and continued to push forward with both Lauren Purling and Anna Larkins getting shots on target in quick succession but these were well collected by the keeper.
But then it was Aylsham's turn to hit Bungay on the counter half an hour in, playing the ball well up the field and causing a goalmouth scramble by Bungay's defence and keeper who somehow managed to keep the ball out, saving twice.
A minute later though an Anna Larkins ball forward down the right wing was collected by Lauren Purling who took a shot from the right hand side of the box which evaded the keeper, 1-0 Bungay.
Aylsham were straight back pressing Bungay's defence, working them hard. But another attack came from Bungay in the 35th minute with Anna Larkins again getting the ball forward to the feet of Stef Cool but her attempt was wide. It was still proving a very even contest but then just before halftime another break forward by Bungay, this time midfielder Laura Holden playing a perfect through ball to Lauren Purling who slotted the ball into Aylsham's goal, 2-0 Bungay.

It was Bungay's turn to come out stronger in the second half, straight away getting a goal in the first minute courtesy of Laura Holden who got on the end of an Anna Larkins ball over the Aylsham defence and calmly tapped the ball over the line, 3-0 Bungay. Two minutes later another shot from Lauren Purling went just wide into the side netting. It was all Bungay and 8 minutes into the half a shot from Stef Cool rattled the Aylsham crossbar, but Laura Holden was there again to fire the ball past the Aylsham keeper on the rebound, 4-0 Bungay.
Aylsham continued to battle hard and were getting forward but Bungay's defence were matching them, stopping any chance of a shot. And Bungay were working the ball well through the midfield, with another goal coming for Laura Holden in the 58th minute, 5-0 Bungay. A few minutes later Lauren Purling got another, it was turning into a rout, 6-0 Bungay.
But then in the 85th minute tiring legs and a lapse in concentration from Bungay's hard working defence meant Aylsham broke through and scored with an easy finish, 6-1 Bungay.
There was still time for a final flourish from Bungay though when Stef Cool's late shot hit the far post and travelled along the goal line but went out of play.

It was touch and go as to whether the match would go ahead as the previous days games at Bungay had all been called off due to the rain and snow showers. But after a pitch inspection by the afternoon's appointed referee the match was deemed ok to proceed.
Brandon started the match the stronger of the two sides, straight away applying pressure to Bungay's back line. Early attempts didn't seem to trouble Bungay's keeper though and they started to settle into play.
Bungay started to spread the ball wide due to the wings being more playable than the centre of the pitch. And this started to pay off with winger Lauren Purling finding space down the right hand side and getting a few balls in quick succession into Brandon's box. Bungay were firing several shots goalwards too but these were being comfortably collected by Brandon's keeper.
In the 17th minute left-back and team captain Kelly Collins raced forward and played a neat through ball to Bungay striker Lacey Andrews who flicked the ball onto the feet of fellow striker Hannah Waters but her shot failed to enter the Brandon net.
Brandon were getting the ball through to the midfield well from their goal kicks but Bungay's own midfield were breaking down Brandon's attacks and frustrating their opponents, chasing down the ball well and playing it forward on the counter.
19 minutes gone and winger Lauren Purling found space again down the right hand side, firing in a low shot. But Brandon's keeper was alert and got down well, pushing the ball wide. The following minute Hannah Waters found herself on the edge of the box and battled through the Brandon defence to knock the ball into the net, 1-0 Bungay.
Bungay continued to press and in the 27th minute winger Nicky Hazell got forward down the left and after a neat turn fired the ball goalwards but this was straight into the grasp of the Brandon keeper. Brandon were still playing the ball out well from the back though and in the 33rd minute managed to sithe through Bungay's defence, but the resulting shot was straight at the Bungay keeper.
Then on 35 minutes Bungay's Lacey Andrews powered a low shot towards the Brandon goal which was saved well by the keeper but the ball came loose and Hannah Waters was there to score her second of the afternoon, 2-0 Bungay.

Halftime score: 2-0 Bungay

It was Brandon who came out strong again in the second half and they had the first attempt on goal, a low shot which was kicked away by Bungay's keeper Ruth Smart. Both teams were digging in and still passing the ball well despite the pitch condition deteriorating.
In the 51st minute Lacey Andrews powered forward up the left flank and provided a neat cross into the path of on-running Lauren Purling whose shot hit the post and ran along the goal line into the keeper’s hands. Then in the 56th minute Lacey Andrews fired a low shot from the right which flew into the bottom corner of the Brandon net, their keeper stretching well but the ball just evading her fingertips, 3-0 Bungay.
Unfortunately the Brandon keeper injured herself in her attempted save and with no substitutes available Brandon were down to 10 players.
They were not deterred though and after conceding were straight back into the Bungay half, firing a shot from distance. But this was easily collected by Bungay's keeper.
Bungay continued to press but Brandon were battling hard to absorb the pressure. In the 84th minute though Hannah Waters netted her third of the afternoon, a Lacey Andrews through ball finding her feet once again and finishing well, 4-0 Bungay.
A minute later a Lacey Andrews attempt hit the crossbar, Bungay were finishing the match with a flourish.

Bungay faced a long away trip to Fakenham in their first game back after the NWGFL Christmas break. But it was Bungay who started the game with the most dominance, straight away pushing forward in numbers and putting Fakenham's defence under pressure.
Fakenham were defending well but the first goal of the match soon came in the 6th minute when Bungay's Nicky Hazell looped a corner ball into the box which was met by Lauren Purling who slotted the ball into the net, 1-0 Bungay.
Fakenham pushed forward, passing the ball up the pitch, but the resulting long-range shot was comfortably collected in Bungay keeper Ruth Smart's arms. Winger Lauren Purling was then involved again for Bungay not long after when her cross into the box from the right hand side just evaded striker Lacey Andrews and whizzed across Fakenham's goal mouth.
Fakenham were playing the ball out from defence well but their midfield play was being broken down by Bungay's own midfield who were not allowing them to get forward. Striker Hannah Waters then crossed a ball in from the left-hand side in the 27th minute, Lacey Andrews receiving and hitting a shot but this was well blocked by a Fakenham defender and went out for a corner. Then on 30 minutes Lauren Purling with another driving run down the right-hand side sent another cross into the feet of Lacey Andrews whose shot was blocked again but this time the rebounded ball fell to Hannah Waters to score her first of the afternoon, 2-0 Bungay.
Bungay continued to pile on the pressure as the half wore on, and in the 38th minute another cross into the box from Lauren Purling just missed the feet of Lacey Andrews, but winger Lauren Matthews in her first game back for Bungay was there to fire the ball low into the far right corner of the goal, 3-0 Bungay.
Fakenham then broke forward, this time getting through the Bungay midfield, but the final shot lacked power and was easily collected by the Bungay keeper. Bungay then found themselves with space in the midfield in the last minute of the half and central mid-fielder Ella Hindley looped a ball forward onto the feet of on-running Lacey Andrews who raced forward, splitting the Fakenham defence and firing the ball into the back of the Fakenham net, 4-0 Bungay.

Bungay continued to dominate as the second half got underway and two minutes into the half Lauren Purling collected a Fakenham goal kick, took the ball wide and drilled the ball in along the Fakenham goal line, resulting in a simple tap-in for Hannah Waters, 5-0 Bungay.
A couple of minutes later Fakenham found themselves through towards the Bungay goal but the shot was high and Bungay's keeper was untroubled. But it was then Hannah Waters who was through on goal for Bungay in the 52nd minute, and she was brought to ground in the penalty area, Fakenham's defender receiving a yellow card. Lacey Andrews stepped up to take the resulting penalty, Fakenham's keeper getting a touch but the power of the shot sending it into the net, 6-0 Bungay.
Fakenham were still battling hard and were soaking up the continuous pressure that was being applied by Bungay. Then in the 58th minute a break by Hannah Waters through the middle resulted in a shot and the ball entering the net, 7-0 Bungay. Three minutes later Bungay were on the scoresheet again, this time a Lacey Andrews cross sailed over the box to the left hand side, the ball falling to Lauren Matthews to score her second of the afternoon, 8-0 Bungay.
Not long after another through ball from Bungay's midfield was received by Lacey Andrews whose shot was blocked, but Hannah Waters was there once again to net her fourth of the match, 9-0 Bungay.

Fakenham were still not giving up though and in the 73rd minute a shot clattered the Bungay crossbar, the ball crashing down towards the goal line but luckily for Bungay it was deemed not to have crossed it. A couple of minutes later Bungay were on the attack again, another close range shot by Lacey Andrews being smothered by Fakenham's keeper. Then in the 75th minute another Nicky Hazell corner fell onto the head of Lauren Purling but this time the header was straight into the keeper's arms.
It was then Bungay's turn to hit the crossbar, the ball falling down but not over the line, and was cleared out by the Fakenham defence. The play was all with Bungay as the match neared it's end, and goal number 10 came in the 84th minute, Lacey Andrews netting her third of the afternoon.
But Bungay were still not done and in the last minute of the game Nicky Hazell raced forward from the Bungay defence, playing a neat ball through to Lacey Andrews who calmly placed the ball past the Fakenham keeper into the back of the net, 11-0 Bungay.

Bungay knew they were up against it this afternoon against the league leaders and with many of their regular players unavailable for the fixture. This meant that both semi-retired players and some who had come back from university for the Christmas break had been called upon.
And it was Thorpe who started the stronger of the two sides, immediately putting Bungay under pressure in their own half and an early chance in the 2nd minute saw Bungay keeper Ruth Smart come off her line and mis-time a block but Bungay defender Charlotte Power was on hand to clear the lines and put the ball out of play.
This early attack seemed to awaken Bungay who then pushed forward in numbers, using both wingers to good effect and getting the ball into Thorpe's half. Action was end to end for the first 10 minutes. Bungay were continuing to get forward but frustratingly with no recognised striker in the side they were running out of options in the final third.
And then Thorpe got on the attack, splitting the Bungay defence, and it was Thorpe who opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a low shot from just inside the area which flew past Bungay's keeper and into the net.
The half wore on with both sides getting into attacking positions and Bungay's centre backs Hannah Jones and Charlotte Power were being worked hard but both were defending well and closing the door on Thorpe.
However, Thorpe weren't making the most of their chances and opportunities were being squandered.

Bungay came out the second half much more determined and with a change of formation got the reward of an early corner. But Thorpe defended well and the ball was soon up into the Bungay half. And it was Thorpe who got on the scoresheet again in the 51st minute with a similar goal to the first, a low shot that evaded the Bungay keeper once again. Thorpe were now piling on the pressure and 3 minutes later there was a real scramble in the Bungay goalmouth with defenders and keeper working hard to clear the ball.
Bungay then managed to work the ball well up the pitch, a solid run in the 67th minute from Nicky Hazell up the left flank resulted in a flick back towards substitute Alice Cheverton who launched the ball goalwards. Thorpe's keeper got up well but only for the ball to fall into the path of oncoming Lauren Purling who powered the ball into the back of the net, 2-1 Thorpe.
Thorpe's keeper appeared to pick up an injury during the goal and was substituted off for a Thorpe outfield player who took up her position in goal.
Thorpe were now starting to come into the half more and were getting forward in numbers. They were passing the ball well and Bungay were working hard to break down their attacks. But in the 84th minute Thorpe broke through the Bungay midfield and managed to fire a shot from the edge of the area which left Bungay's keeper rooted to the spot and the ball sailed past her into the goal.
Thorpe were having the majority of the play as the match neared its end and another break by them saw the ball enter Bungay's net once again in the 87th minute with the Bungay keeper wrong footed. And another shot on the Bungay goal came in from a further Thorpe attack in the final minute of the game but this time it was fired high and over the crossbar.

The ladies knew that a win today would put them into the semi-final draw against Bacton, a team that they have fared well against in the past. And so there was a determined mood throughout the squad this afternoon to do well and perform.
However it was Lowestoft who started the better side on their home turf, passing the ball well and putting early pressure on the Bungay defence. Bungay were set up well to absorb this though and were clearing their lines well. Lone striker Lacey Andrews then picked up one of these cleared balls and ran with it, driving through Lowestoft's defence in the 5th minute but was tackled well in the area. But she was able to retrieve and fire the ball high which stretched the Lowestoft keeper but sailed over the crossbar.
Bungay were now settling into the game and it was Lacey Andrews again who got onto a Nicky Hazell cross in the 11th minute which caused the Lowestoft keeper to make a scrambled save right on the goal-line.
20 minutes in and it was now becoming end-to-end, both teams were pressing the opposition's defence, chances were coming at both ends. Bungay were battling hard against their higher-ranking opposition, and there was nothing to chose between the two sides.
Late on in the half Bungay's keeper Ruth Smart kicked a long ball up to Lacey Andrews who collected and fired a long-range shot towards the Lowestoft goal but unfortunately wasn't on target.

Bungay came out for the second half knowing that the game was there for the taking. And they were straight back into the match when striker Lacey Andrews ran onto a through ball from Magda Bereza in the 47th minute, firing the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the Lowestoft net, 1-0 Bungay.
This rocked Lowestoft who seemed to suddenly switch on, taking the game back to Bungay. And in the 52nd minute they were back on level terms when a free kick on the edge of the Bungay area was looped high over the wall and over keeper Ruth Smart into Bungay's net.
The game was once again end-to-end with both sides attacking well. In the 63rd minute Bungay's Lacey Andrews found herself through on goal again but came up against three Lowestoft defenders, one of whom managed to nudge her off the ball which was calmly collected by the Lowestoft keeper.
A minute later the ball was up the other end of the pitch and a defensive slip by Bungay brought keeper Ruth Smart off her line to smother the ball only for it to somehow get through and trickle into the net, 2-1 Lowestoft. But Bungay pressed forward again, and in the 67th minute Lacey Andrews drove through the Lowestoft defence, firing a powerful shot one again into the bottom right corner of the Lowestoft net, 2-2.
Lowestoft again got the ball straight back into Bungay's half, applying pressure and getting the reward of a corner. But the delivery was poor and Bungay were able to clear once again. Lowestoft's striker Hannah Waters found herself in space on the edge of the Bungay area in the 84th minute but her shot was straight into Ruth Smart's arms. And then in the last minute of normal time another Hannah Waters shot hit the far post, rolled along the goal-line but was smothered by Bungay keeper Ruth Smart.

Bungay were visibly starting to tire as the first half of extra time kicked off but they knew they were still very much in the match. Both sides continued to press each others defence and the game was now very open with both teams getting forward well.
But in the 8th minute Lowestoft winger Aimee Durrant drove up the left wing and managed to get a shot across goal from a very tight angle, and an attempted clearance by Bungay's defence saw the ball just creep over the line, 3-2 Lowestoft.
Bungay were determined though and were still getting themselves forward into the Lowestoft half. But another error in Bungay's defence in the 11th minute let Lowestoft in again and with keeper Ruth Smart staying on her line a shot came in and slotted into the far corner of the net, 4-2 Lowestoft.
Bungay were still not giving up though and in the 14th minute Lacey Andrews made another forward run, her shot just going wide of the far post.

Lowestoft now had a head of steam and with Bungay legs continuing to tire they broke forward again, but Bungay managed to clear the ball out for a corner. Bungay were slow to clear this time around though and the ball came back in striking the crossbar with force.
But Bungay continued to battle, and were still causing problems for Lowestoft as the match came to it's conclusion.

Today's match meant that a win would put Bungay into the quarter finals of this season's NWGFL League Cup. Straight from the off possession was all with Bungay who surged forward in numbers putting Bohemians defence under immediate pressure. And it didn't take long for the first goal of the afternoon to come in the 4th minute of the match, a Lacey Andrews cross from the left flank falling to the feet of winger Lauren Purling who slotted the ball home. 1-0 Bungay.
Bungay continued to push Bohemians back into their half, and in the 8th minute striker Michelle Stanborough scythed through their defence firing a solo effort goalwards which entered the net after rebounding off the near post, 2-0 Bungay.
Bungay were dominating and building up a head of steam with opportunities arising every time they went forward. In the 13th minute Michelle Stanborough drove forward again, firing a low shot from the right hand side which went just wide of the far post. And it was Stanborough again in minute 24 whose low shot caused the Bohemians keeper to get down low, pushing the ball just wide of the post.
A couple of minutes later Bungay midfielder Ella Hindley ran through from the midfield, her shot at goal well saved again from the busy Bohemians keeper. As the half drew to a close the Bohemians keeper unfortunately suffered a nasty slip coming off her line and had to be substituted by another outfield player.

The second half started again with Bungay dominating possession and it was Michelle Stanborough who sent a neat flick from just outside the area looping up into the air and over the Bohemians keeper to make it 3-0 after 48 minutes.
Bungay continued to press and midfielder Emily Leach sent a powerful shot across the goalmouth which forced a fine save from Bohemians stand-in keeper. Not long after Lauren Purling sent a pinpoint cross into the box from the right wing only for Emily Leach to receive it but fire the ball over the crossbar.
Bohemians were however now starting to get a foothold in the game themselves and were getting much more possession in the midfield area. Bungay found themselves having to defend more and were getting closed down quickly with some hard tackles now coming in from the opposition.
In the 69th minute Michelle Stanborough found herself in a one-on-one situation with the Bohemians keeper who came out bravely and did enough to save the shot. But a minute later a cleared Bungay corner which came back into the box was firmly headed by Lauren Purling into the net, 4-0 Bungay.
Bohemians kept driving Bungay back though and finally got their reward in the 77th minute when a saved shot by Bungay keeper Ruth Smart was then fumbled and the ball was taken around her and put into the back of the net.
This seemed to awaken Bungay who pushed forward in numbers again, with Lacey Andrews driving forward in the 81st minute down the right flank, firing a cross into the box which was powerfully headed home by Emily Leach to make it 5-1 Bungay.
And despite Bohemians applying more pressure in the closing minutes of the game it was Emily Leach once again who broke free and sent a shot sailing towards Bohemians goal in the last minute of the game which frustratingly scuffed the crossbar.

Bungay knew that they couldn't be complacent going into this afternoon's reverse fixture of last weeks match against Kirkley & Pakefield despite their comfortable win. And so the match started with Bungay dominating the play, firing early shots at the Kirkley keeper and pressing Kirkley back into their own half.
Bungay eventually got their first reward in the 11th minute with a Michelle Stanborough shot forcing the keeper to come off her line and lose the ball which was pounced upon by Stephanie Cool who calmly slotted the ball into the net to make it 1-0 to Bungay.
Bungay continued to press high, Lacey Andrews getting onto a Lauren Purling through ball and rattling the crossbar in the 13th minute. Then a corner to Bungay in the 18th minute taken by Inna Marx caused a defensive scramble in the Kirkley goalmouth resulting in a header from Lauren Purling to make it 2-0 to Bungay.
It was one-way traffic as the half wore on and Bungay midfielder Emily Leach nearly got on the scoresheet herself in the 26th minute when her powerful shot was deflected by a Kirkley defender causing their keeper to dive low at the far post pushing the ball wide. However, a couple of minutes later Selena Rowland for Kirkley broke through the Bungay midfield, barging through Bungay's defence and placed the ball into Bungay's net, 2-1 Bungay.
But Bungay's heads didn't drop and they pushed forward again, spreading the ball well across the pitch. And a neat cross from Michelle Stanborough in the 31st minute fell to the feet of Stephanie Cool who fired the ball home to score her second of the afternoon.
And it was another cross played in by Lacey Andrews that got Bungay's fourth in the 38th minute when the ball was picked up by Michelle Stanborough who sent a neat chip sailing over the on-rushing Kirkley keeper to make it 4-1 to Bungay.
And Bungay still continued to push as the half came to an end with Michelle Stanborough again getting onto a Lauren Purling through ball but unfortunately this was fired wide of the post.

Bungay came out for the second half and started much as they did the first, with some great link-up play across the pitch and were battling hard in midfield to win possession. Stephanie Cool quickly got onto the scoresheet again with a tap-in in the 48th minute following a Lacey Andrews attempt but was unfortunately injured in the process and had to be carried off the field of play.
Bungay were quick to get their heads back in the game though and an Emily Leach cross which went behind the Kirkley keeper was received by midfielder Lauren Mickleburgh who finished to score her first goal of the season.
There was some great battling going on in the midfield and Bungay were spreading the ball well out to the wings. Left-back Lois Nethersell-Webb found herself in space on the left and drove the ball forward, pinging a shot in from the left flank which sailed over the Kirkley keeper and into the net in the 63rd minute, 7-1 to Bungay.
Despite the now comfortable lead Bungay were hungry for more and striker Lacey Andrews went on a solo run finishing with the reward of a further Bungay goal in the 74th minute. A couple of minutes later Michelle Stanborough got her second of the match to make it 9-1 to Bungay.
But Kirkley weren't giving up and Selena Rowland charged forward again, splitting the Bungay defence, rounding players and scoring again late in the game to make it 9-2.

The Ladies went into the afternoons game knowing that points were needed, a win today would be their first of the season in the league and Kirkley were just below them in the table.
The game started well with Bungay pressing the ball forward into Kirkley's half and spreading the ball well. Both Nicky Hazell and Lacey Andrews were peppering shots at the Kirkley keeper who was on form and putting in some good saves. Kirkley's defence started to settle and rose to the multiple challenges being made by Bungay's attack and were defending well in numbers. But Bungay's Lauren Purling was finding plenty of space down the right flank and was putting in some testing crosses into the Kirkley penalty area, but Kirkley's keeper was alert.
Bungay finally got their reward though and opened the scoring in the 15th minute when a cut-back cross into the box from Lacey Andrews was fumbled by Kirkley's keeper and followed up by Michelle Stanborough to tap across the line.
Bungay continued to push forward but Kirkley were battling hard and were now having a few forward runs of their own. But Bungay's defence were clearing their lines well. And a second goal for Bungay came in the 31st minute when left back Lois Nethersell-Webb was allowed to break forward down the left hand side, receiving a cross from winger Magda Bereza and firing the ball home to make it 2-0.
It was one-way traffic as the first half neared it's end with Bungay dominating possession, only the agility of Kirkley's keeper stopping Bungay from scoring more.

Bungay started the second half much as they finished the first with Lacey Andrews driving a shot at the Kirkley goal in the 46th minute, the keeper losing the ball from her grip but a Kirkley defender was there to put the ball wide of the post.
Lauren Purling had now switched to the left flank and her driving run forward in the 61st minute was finished with a powerful shot but unfortunately this went straight into the Kirkley keepers hands.
Not long after striker Lacey Andrews made her own run forward, splitting the Kirkley defence and hitting a shot from outside the left hand side of the box and into the right hand corner of the Kirkley goal to make it 3-0 to the home side. Kirkley were clearing the ball well but it was being brought back into their half by the Bungay midfield, both Inna Marx and Emily Leach battling for the ball well. Bungay then made it four when new signing Stephanie Cool hit a powerful solo effort into the right-hand corner after taking the ball through the defence in the 77th minute.
But Kirkley were not giving up and continued to press forward, keeping the Bungay defence alert. But in the dying seconds of the match Bungay put the game to bed when Michelle Stanborough used her pace to outrun Kirkley's tireless defence and drove the ball from the right-hand side into the back of the net to make it 5-0 to Bungay.

Following last week's success in the Suffolk Cup, Bungay kicked off and were straight onto the attack, breaking forward in numbers and the Sprowston keeper was tested very early on. Sprowston's back four were solid though with their centre back Lois Irving marshalling their defence well and clearing Sprowston's lines.
However 10 minutes in Nicky Hazell got on the end of a Lacey Andrews clever through ball to slot it past the advancing Sprowston keeper giving an early lead to the home side. Possession was all with Bungay who were dominating midfield and created wave after wave of attacking play. And they were rewarded again for their efforts in the 24th minute when striker Lacey Andrews released a powerful solo effort which sailed into the back of the Sprowston net.
Andrews was now getting a lot of the ball from the Bungay midfield and nearly scored again in the 31st minute with another screamer which was tipped wide of the post by the Sprowston keeper. Not long after Andrews effort Bungay's other striker, Michelle Stanborough saw her own powerful long range shot from the right hand side go millimetres wide of the far post.
Bungay continued to press and dominate possession and another through ball from Andrews was collected by Stanborough in the 40th minute who shot from close range but the Sprowston keeper was alert. eventually Bungay made it three in the last few minutes of the first half with Emily Leach coming through from the midfield with a strong driving run and slotting the ball home.

Bungay came out in the second half much as they finished the first with a high work rate, pushing the ball high and wide up the pitch. And it was one of the wide balls on the left hand side that fell to Andrews feet who continued her run forward and hit a powerful shot in the 53rd minute which she slotted past the keeper and into the far corner. Two minutes later winger Lauren Purling had her own driving run up the left wing but unfortunately her shot was saved by the now well worked Sprowston keeper.
Bungay continued to press and in the 59th minute Emily Leach came through again from the midfield getting on the end of another Andrews through ball, this time her shot rattling the crossbar. A couple of minutes later Andrews hit another shot from distance which had the keeper well beaten again and finished up in the bottom corner of the Sprowston net.
Bungay then seemed to step off the gas a little and started to let Sprowston drive at them more with the Bungay defence having to be sharp to contain Sprowston's now numerous runs forward.
Bungay were still able to get forward themselves and a mix up in the Sprowston defence saw a low cross diverted into the Sprowston net for the sixth time in the 64th minute.
Both teams were now starting to tire and the last half hour of the match was a reasonably even affair with both teams getting forward but without reward.

After the FA Cup defeat last Sunday Bungay knew that they needed to work just as hard to get a result today in the Suffolk Cup. Their opposition was Ipswich Phoenix Ladies who play in the Suffolk Women's league.

The match started with Bungay dominating possession, pressing forward straight from the off and several shots at goal tested the Phoenix keeper early on. Bungay's first goal came in the 14th minute with Nicky Hazell coming in from the wing, controlling the ball well at her feet, turning, and taking a low shot into the Phoenix net.

Phoenix looped the ball forward, sending the ball sailing over the Bungay midfield but Bungay's defence were sharp and midfielder Hannah Jones was collecting the ball well just in front of Bungay's back four and picking out some well executed passes into the forwards feet. Striker Michelle Stanborough then had a solo shot which crashed against the crossbar, coming down only to be cleared by the Phoenix defence.

But then in the 31st minute another Michelle Stanborough effort was collected by Bungay defender and captain Kelly Collins who slotted the ball home for her first goal of the afternoon.

Bungay continued to dominate possession but Phoenix were battling hard, trying to press the ball forward and delivering some good through balls. But Bungay broke away again through the middle and Michelle Stanborough finally got on the scoresheet with a powerful drive into the net.

It was all Bungay as the first half drawed to a close and it was Hannah Jones who took the ball from midfield up the right wing, got past the Phoenix defence and scored a tap-in in the 44th minute to make it 4-0 to the home side at halftime.

The second half started much the same as the first with Bungay passing the ball well and getting into the Phoenix half. Nicky Hazell, who had been subbed during the first half, then came back onto the pitch replacing Michelle Stanborough in one of the striker’s roles and hadn't been on the pitch long before netting her second goal of the afternoon. This was closely followed by her third, a mirror image of her previous goal, a tap-in from the right-hand side.

Then in the 60th minute it was defender Kelly Collins turn to score her second after she got on the end of a well executed Bungay corner. Three minutes later Nicky Hazell scored her fourth after receiving a cross into the box from Lacey Andrews. It was all Bungay and Phoenix were soaking up a lot of pressure from the home side. Lois Nethersell-Webb then added her name to the goal scorers with yet another tap-in goal. The Phoenix defence were starting to tire but refused to give up, battling for the ball and keeping Bungay busy.

But a further goal for the home side came in the 85th minute with Kelly Collins netting her third of the afternoon.

Phoenix ended the match with a bit of luck though in the 88th minute when a clearance from Bungay keeper Ruth Smart hit winger Lauren Purling at close range, the ball rebounding off her chest and trickling into the Bungay net to give Phoenix a consolation goal.

Bungay Town Ladies -playing in the 3 round of the Women's Fa cup for the first time -came up against a strong Acle U'td team that are sitting just off the top of 2 div's higher in the Eastern Premier league, but although they lost 3-6 in front of a large crowd that thoroughly enjoyed an enthralling battle Bungay can be justifiably proud of their display.
Bungay started obviously nervous and weren't helped by Acle taking the lead when ex Bungay player Kate Pasque was allowed to head home unchallenged from a corner after only 3 mins, further bad marking from another corner resulted in a push on Pasque and an Acle penalty on 15 mins. Bungay then changed to a 4-4-2 formation and from then on the game changed completely as first Rebecca Calver pulled a goal back when she battled her way through a couple of tackles and fire home from the edge of the area, this was quickly followed by Michelle Stanborough running on to a through ball to calmly beat the onrushing keeper to draw Bungay level, the score stayed at 2-2 for the rest of an even first half. Soon after the restart Bungay took a deserved lead when Stanborough again out paced the Acle defence, the Acle keeper half stopping her shot but it trickled over the line before being cleared. Stanborough nearly completed her hat trick but her long range effort came back of the Acle bar with the keeper well beaten. But in a now end to end game Acle came back as a long range effort from their full back sailed over Bungay keeper Ruth Smart giving her no chance, and then Bungay's Achilles heel came to haunt them as again a corner caused confusion and Pasque was there to stab home, despite Bungay's gallant efforts by pushing players forward they got punished twice late on by Acle to give a final score of 3-6. A superb performance by all of Bungay's players that with a little bit more luck deserved more.

Bungay were hit by player availability issues this week as they welcomed top of the table Thorpe United Ladies to the Maltings on Sunday afternoon.
Despite the introduction of three newly signed players into the starting lineup it was Bungay who started the more dominant side, spreading the ball well across the pitch and pinning Thorpe back in their own half. All that was missing was a finish from Bungay, however a sudden break forward from Thorpe in the 12th minute resulted in their first shot of the match sailing over the Bungay defence and into the back of the net.
Bungay took control again with Lauren Purling and Lacey Andrews linking up well and getting into some good shooting positions. But Thorpe got lucky again with another break forward resulting in a defensive error by Bungay which gifted a further goal for the visitors in the 27th minute.
Again Bungay picked themselves up quickly and kept pumping the ball forward, working Thorpe's defence hard. But a further sucker punch came just before half time when a fumbled save by the Bungay keeper was followed up and turned into the back of the net.

Once again Bungay came out strongly and started the half the more dominant of the two sides. And they nearly got themselves on the score sheet in the 55th minute with a low powerful drive from Michelle Stanborough from the edge of the area which clipped the near post and then clipped the inside of the far post, but to Bungay's despair the ball came back off the goal line for the Thorpe keeper to comfortably scoop up.
A few minutes later saw another blow to Bungay's efforts when Thorpe found the back of the net resulting in their fourth goal of the afternoon.
Bungay were working hard but Thorpe had now built up a head of steam, netting their fifth with a powerful shot from the edge of the box in the 64th minute.
A switch of defensive players by Bungay saw another good period of possession play from the home side, one effort causing the Thorpe keeper to make a very strong save pushing the ball up and over the crossbar.
But Bungay legs were tiring and another break through the midfield from Thorpe saw them net their sixth goal of the afternoon in the 71st minute.
The home side continued to press and finally got on the scoresheet with a well executed corner taken by Nicky Hazell in the 86th minute received by Lauren Purling in the box who turned the ball into the net.

On Saturday afternoon the squad travelled to Bishops Stortford Ladies to play in the 2nd Qualifying Round of the Womens FA Cup, the match due to kick off at 7.30pm that evening at Bishops Stortford FC's ProKit Stadium under floodlights.

Come kick off the main stand was packed out with home support, making it quite un-nerving for the visiting Bungay side. However, the ladies started strongly making several driving runs forward and un-settling the home defence. Rebecca Carver finally broke through scoring the first goal of the match after 20 minutes.

Bishops Stortford reacted quickly and sent several long balls down the left wing, with a few wild shots coming in the test the Bungay keeper Ruth Smart. Bungay composed themselves though and pressed again with Emily Leach's shot being parried into the path of Lacey Andrews to tap the ball home just before halftime. But the goal was ruled offside.

The second half started much like the first with Bungay dominating possession and pushing forward. After several attacks at goal Lacey Andrews finally found the back of the net, driving home a well executed solo effort.

Bishops Stortford continued to press however with their home support spurring them on. And they eventually got their reward, finally breaking down Bungay's hard working defence in the 82nd minute.

Bungay continued to keep their composure and as the game neared the final whistle and with only a few minutes remaining Lacey Andrews scored again pouncing on another Emily Leach effort to put the game to bed.

Bungay Town Ladies' revival in results continued with probably the result of the week in Ladies football as they defeated Lynn Ladies(Kings Lynn) 2-0 in a "competitive" game at Maltings meadow. Bungay had a game plan to keep the dangerous Lynn forwards in check which worked perfectly, allowing the midfield and forwards to push forward in quick breaks, and it worked to such an extent that only once did Lynn look like threatening the Bungay goal when they hit the post - but ironically from the clearance Bungay broke quickly and from Nicki Hazel's through ball Lauren Matthews rounded the keeper to score. In the second half with the strong wind blowing down the pitch Bungay dominated play and when a neat move from Lois Nethersett and Kelly Collins put though Ella Hindley, she neatly rounded a defender and shot across the keeper into the far corner to double Bungay's lead. Despite Lynn's late efforts they rarely threatened and it was Bungay who nearly increased their lead as Lauren Matthews went close. Bungay have now quickly moved up to 5th in the table, and with a fully confident and committed squad, they move on to the league cup(plate) quarter final at North Walsham Angels on 13th March in great heart.

Bungay Town Ladies continued with their recent improved form by winning 3-0 at Long Stratton. On a heavy, bumpy ground with a strong wind blowing end to end it was never going to be a classic game but Bungay's solid back line held Long Stratton well back in the first have when against the wind, and took the deserved lead just before half time as Lauren Purling's header from a corner was cleared off the line only for Emily Leach to control a volley and powerfully fire the ball back into the roof of the net. In the second-half now with the wind at their backs Bungay pushed forward, but the heavy pitch made good play hard and it wasn't until a long effort from Emily Leach crept past the Long Stratton keeper that Bungay settled down, and to cap an excellent game Emily again rounded off the scoring with a well taken cross shot from the edge of the area to complete her hat trick.A good overall performance from Bungay with the whole squad now settling down and getting results and the first clean sheet of the season. Young Ella Hindley getting player of the game for her prodigious work and running in midfield.

Bungay Town Ladies progressed into the quater finals of the league cup (plate) with a well deserved 4-2 defeat of Long Stratton, on a windy Maltings Sunday afternoon. Bungay with finally a near full strength squad started well and pushed Long Stratton back from the off and after a few near misses they finally took the lead when the visiting keeper in trying to stop the ball going out for a corner only succeeded in pushing it out to Nicki Hazel who still had work to do but finished well, Bungay should have had more from their possession but it was Long Stratton who equalised when their strong striker found her way through after a defensive mistake just before half time. After the break Bungay again dominated but this time made use of it when first full back Lois Nethersell ran on to a cross field pass from Inna Marx to score her first goal for 2 years with Bungay with a strong finish into the top corner, this was quickly followed by Taylor Whiting collecting a clearance 30yds out and firing a terrific shot into the far corner, and when Nicki Hazel headed a fourth from close range the result was sealed but there was still time for Long Stratton to push extra players forward and score the final goal. An entertaining game in a testing wind with the key being Bungay's strong back four lead by Annie Piper who never let Long Stratton have a foothold in the game.

Bungay Town s got back to playing again after a long 6 week break and played away at Brandon Tow,n who sit at the top of the Norfolk league. Despite having a lot of unavailable players it was Bungay who started the stronger. with new signings Lauren Matthews and 16yr old Ella Hindley looking strong additions to the squad. Bungay nearly forced an opening goal when Nicki Hazel and Michelle Stanborough combined well but Nicki's turn and shot was brilliantly saved onto the post by the Brandon keeper, but Bungays determination was rewarded when Michelle was put through by Lauren Matthews to stab the ball passed the keeper for a deserved 1-0 lead at half time.
In the second half Brandon as expected came more into the game but Bungay's rearranged back four was in fine form and kept them at bay until once again lady luck was not on Bungay's side, as Brandon scored direct from an in-swinging corner and then a "hit and hope" effort from the Brandon midfield left Rachel in the Bungay goal helpless as it flew into the top corner
Bungay tried to their credit to get the game back but despite pushing Brandon back the goal would not come.
A brilliant effort from the makeshift Bungay team which deserved so much more.

Bungay Town Ladies on Sunday played the always strong team from Thorpe United and in a very close game lost 3-2 at the Maltings. Bungay started with a strong wind in their faces and did well to hold the score goalless until midway through the half when the very fast Thorpe strikers broke through. Although Bungay held equal possession the Thorpe goal was rarely threatened, and towards the end of the half a loose clearance was punished by Thorpe. However soon after Emily Fusco picked up a ball 25yds from goal, saw the keeper off her line and did well to place her shot over her to bring Bungay back into the game. From the start of the second half Bungay began to get more into the game and trouble the defence of Thorpe, but unfortunately went to sleep on a quick throw to allow Thorpe to increase their lead, Bungay fought back and after Michelle Stanborough had gone close from Eva Evans cut back she broke through the Thorpe back line to score, although Bungay fought hard for the equalizer time was against them. Player of match was keeper Rachel Moore with some safe handling and good saves despite an ankle injury.

Bungay Town Ladies returned to winning ways after last week with a workman like 5-0 defeat of Mulbarton Belles. On a windy and heavy Maltings pitch Bungay dominated from the start with first Lauren Purling cutting in and hitting the post early on and then Michelle Stanborough running on to a fine through ball to take the ball passed the keeper to open the scoring followed Emily Fusco's bullet header from an Inna Marx corner, Michelle then turned in Emily's cross after a good run down the line and completed her hat trick by running again on to another good through ball to fire home at the near post, Eva Evans completed a good first half by turning and shooting after another Bungay corner was only half cleared. The second half by comparison was much more even with Mulbarton giving Bungay's back line a harder game with Rachel Moore in the Bungay goal being called on a few time to keep the score blank, but Bungay spurned further good chances to increase their lead. Bungay Town Ladies found themselves on the end of a one person demolition on Sunday as they came away from Lynn Ladies with a 6-2 defeat, with Shelley Woods from Lynn running the game and scoring 5 before being replaced before the end. Bungay started well and had the Lynn team back in their own half, but a long ball clearance was not dealt with and Woods with her pace got in-between defender Sian Cater and keeper Rachel Moore to score from a tight angle, Bungay kept playing their usual game of passing football and it paid of as Nicki Hazel went clear and crossed for Michelle Stanborough to score from close range, soon after Michelle ran on to another trough ball and scored to give Bungay the lead, But just when it looked like they would go in 2-1 up the break slack marking allowed Woods an easy tap in from a corner. In the second half Bungay found it increasing difficult to stop Lynn's player Woods who took the game away from them with some strong running and fine finishes, Bungay felt hard done by with decisions that went against them at crucial times during the game and will have to look for a better result next week when bottom team Mulbarton visit the Maltings.

Bungay Town Ladies finally got the win their previous games deserved with a 4-1 defeat of Long Stratton. With an almost full squad to choose from Bungay started brightly and a terrific run from full back Emily Fusco almost ended in a deserved goal, but shortly after Michelle Stanborough ran on to a through ball and crashed the ball into the top corner from 20yds. This was followed by 2 more quick goals from first Michelle again and then Emily Leach turning and firing in, Nicki Hazel then got in on the act with a calm finish from a poor goalkeeper's clearance. More chances came with Nicki hitting the post and Emily lobbing the keeper but also over the bar, however Long Stratton were far from out of the game with some dangerously quick forwards and it was no surprise when a run and cross was turned into the Bungay net. But with the back four in commanding form Bungay restricted Long Stratton to long range efforts.
In the second half the game seemed flat by comparison, with few chances before an unfortunate incidence in the 75th min brought the game to a finish with a Long Stratton player having to be taken to hospital with suspected concussion.

 Bungay Town Ladies once again came up just short in trying to defeat Aylsham in their 3rd meeting of the season, this time in the League cup. Bungay started well and soon created chances with Michelle Stanborough and Nicky Hazel putting shots the wrong side of the posts, followed by Michelle striking a shot against the bar, chances they would later regret as the game moved on with Bungay's efforts from earlier in the game beginning to have its effect as Sian Carter was forced to leave the game injured which meant moving the influential Annie Piper back into central defence, and the final 10 mins brought Aylsham 2 goals to finish off Bungay's resistance. Despite the result it was a much improved performance with Annie Piper commanding in her return to the team.
Training is now continuing under new fitness coach Joe Cooper and Harry Booker -all players welcome 7-9pm Wednesdays

Bungay Town Ladies had a quick rematch with Aylsham Town on Sunday with the reverse fixture of last week's exciting 3-4 loss, and again came close to upsetting the current league champions by going down now 3-5 this time. Both teams took time to settle and with Bungay having a few unavailable player it was not surprising that Aylsham went ahead on 20mins with a through ball enabling their quick striker to out pace the Bungay backs. To their credit Bungay came back to equalise with Taylor Whiting firing home an excellent strike from 20yds, But they were quickly undone again as again they allowed Aylsham too much room, Bungay pushed Aylsham back for the rest of the half and got their reward when Eva Evans volled home a half cleared centre to make it 2-2, just when it looked like that would be it for the half again Bungay fell for the same through ball and to make matters even worse a half cleared corner from Aylsham fell kindly for them to fire home at 4-2 for the half. The restart brought even greater loss for Bungay as once again Aylshams striker was given to much space to fire home, but to their credit Bungay fought back and mid way in the half Nicky Hazell turned in Lauren Purling's cross after a good run, but try as they could Bungay would not find any more openings in a strong Aylsham back line.

Bungay Town Ladies began their 15-16 season with the toughest possible task against current league champions Aylsham, and can count themselves very unlucky to lose 3-4 in an exciting encounter that switched one way and back. After a fairly even 30mins with both teams having chances the game suddenly came to life as Aylsham were awarded a harsh looking penalty against Kelly Collins' "handball" for sliding into a challenge - however Aylsham then missed the spot kick and Bungay went up the other end for Emily Leach to fire home from an acute angle, and then to finish off a flowing move by turning in Tayor Whiting's low cross to put Bungay two up. Then the game turned on a very debatable Aylsham goal as a player clearly in an offside position was allowed to run through and score just on the half time whistle.
The second half action followed on as soon Bungay went 3-1 up with Emily Leach completing her hat trick by putting a close rebound in from Nicky Hazell's shot. But back came Aylsham as Bungay's efforts tailed off and a 35yard screamer of a shot, followed by forward running in to score brought Aylsham level, and soon they went in front as a free kick was allowed to float over to the far post. Bungay fought back and Emily Leach and Nicky Hazell went close before the finish. Player of match Kelly Collins for some excellent defensive covering
