Bungay Town Football Club held their annual golf day on Friday 5th August at the Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club. It was an extremely well attended event with twenty teams taking part and all funds raised went towards the costs of running the football club with their myriad of youth, girls, ladies, men and veterans' teams. The event was organised by Kevin Talbot, an ex player who now also manages the Sunday Veterans team for Bungay Town, who had decreed that the format would be Texas Scramble so that every player could feel part of the team. The winning group comprised of James Earl, Mark O'Neil, Tom York and Ollie Earl, winning with an impressive 53.4 gross score for the 72 holes. The winning team took away as first prize a round of golf on the Heritage Course at the London Club in addition to a dozen ProV1 golf balls. There were numerous other sponsored holes and many other players took home a prize in an attempt to placate their partners. Sponsors of the event were NH Black Construction, Sprake & Tyrrell, Bruce Woodward, Jeremy Jenkins, David Fuller, John Earl Fencing, Tubes Scaffolding and Waveney Mushrooms. Bungay Town FC are extremely grateful to all the sponsors of the tournament and obviously all the players who attended on the day. We would also like to thank the Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club for their support and hospitality on the day with over £1,000 being raised for club funds.
